Questions about classifieds

I wasn't sure how to find a mod here straight out, so any help from them is appreciated along with any of you members.

I haven't been so active in the forums themselves, mostly the PMs about the collection I posted about some time ago.

Been selling some things on American Classifieds, but would rather sell here to you all, as a lot of you that contacted me were very helpful. Also, running into many uh, odd characters texting me or emailing was less than desireable. Understandably, a lot of people that contacted me were highly suspicious of scammers. I could see why, as I saw a few myself, but I also thought that might be quelled a little bit more here, as you seem to watch each other's backs. Even sending multiple requested pictures, it was hard to convince people that I wasn't scamming them, and although it's understandable, it's a little exhausting. 🫠

I have quite a few to sell as well, still. I've only sold a few, so another question would be, how many posts are considered too many here? I don't want to spam the heck out of the classifieds with every individual item. Is there a way to list them all in one post or does it have to be one at a time? If so, how many would you all say is reasonable? I don't want to be disrespectful or rude. Please give me any heads up needed.

I have the required amount of messages to post there, but as I said, I haven't been as active in the forum. I've been swamped with trying to work and take care of the things necessary since my dad's passing. If that is a problem with me advertising here, I would like to know that as well.

Thanks all, in advance. :)

I’ve seen guys put multiple rifles in a thread and just update with strikes through the sold stuff. Someone searching the forum properly will find the contents no problem.
I’d list thread by what it is (rifles , scope, pellets etc.
Ok great, that's good to know. I did not really wanna post all of those individually. 😄 Thanks for the tip.

I usually try to combine similar items into a single post. So all rifles, or all pistols, or all scopes. If it's a bunch of misc items all related to a specific rifle or platform I'd combine them as well. But if I wanted to sell a rifle and a scope I would probably do two threads.

As far as proving you're not a scammer. A phone call goes a long way with many people. Also pictures with a handwritten note in them can help.

Conversations here are the best way to build confidence in yourself to others on this forum . Just general conversations , hunting , targets ,
True, that is a fair point. It's a little harder for me to keep up much of a convo, as I'm newer to them than most of you and more into firearms, would be the only reason I'm not active much. I mostly came looking for info, so I don't scam people that want to buy them. :p

I have to say, I'm the neanderthal. I didn't leave buyer feedback ;-; Didn't actually know that was customary. 😬 Is it? Sqwirl is a good bean.
Trust me you're fine. I have plenty of feedback on my account already. You were dealing with a lot back then and I wasn't going to press for it. Plus there really is no way you should have known because nobody told you about it

I very much appreciate the consieration of the situation. Hectic has been an understatement for the past few months.
I'm used to seeing seller feedback, having sold quite a few other things, but I had never seen buyer feedback. Makes sense. It's just as nice to find someone that isn't a hassle to sell to, as it is to find a decent person to buy from. I know now though and will for sure do so from here on out. Thanks again Sqwirl (y)

hello,I would never post more than 3 related air rifles in one post.
Better to take your time, plus you have to get the money for them and send each one out.
Too many times I have seen people get confused when sending out multiple items, like the wrong item ,etc.
There are many eager Beavers waiting for the chance to buy some of your air rifles.
I know from my losses that the emotional aspect of looking at and getting rid of a loved one's items can be hard.
Some airguns are worth a lot more than others, cheaper ones can be grouped, the value one not so.
Think of this ,You are a service representative, you represent quality and items people want, do your part, and make sure that they respect what you are trying to do.Good Luck...Jesse

Hello hello. I can respect that. A fair point. I'm taking as much time as possible, but with an entire estate to figure out and needing to move early'ish next year, I'm trying to sell them without taking another year to do so. I've got 11 rifles and 1 pistol, so I don't want to spend forever on them, as I have a lot of other stuff to sell or move...however, I don't want to just throw them willy nilly. I could see selling a few at a time though. I'll have to think on it a bit. Maybe four at a time if I go that way, as there are 12 guns. 🤔

As far as keeping track of things, I've gotten pretty good at keeping lists of items, who they go to, etc. over the time I've been here. Not super worried about that part. Mostly thanks to spread sheets. :p

I definitely respect the last point. These were my dad's after all. I want people to enjoy them, as I don't have the room or time to do so. I'm more into firearms, primitive archery and motorcycles (where most of my money seems to go) and I'm a freelance/contractor concept artist, so I'm already doing what I love to do and want to sell this collection to people who will care for and enjoy them as he did. I've been sitting on most of them for about a year and half total aside from the couple I've sold already.
I appreciate your input. Thanks very much for taking the time.

I just did a deal with @Nerkz as well.

Super helpful and polite...smooth transaction that worked as well as any that I have done with long time members.

As far as posting classified threads goes, coming from someone who always has a WTB thread up, I feel as long as you aren't spamming the entire forum with many small item posts you'll be just fine.

Keep up the good work, I already see you as a welcome addition to the community and your recent post was top notch! Great collection for sale too.

Always good to hear about good transactions

Be sure to leave feedback on his profile though so he gets credit. Posting it here will make it harder to impossible for others to see it.

Don't worry. We will exchange feedback once the transaction is complete :)

Just finished the first stage only.
