Late last night FedEx dropped off some goodies for my impact, obviously it took me no time to install them. Spent all morning on web meetings and just feel like crap, got the bug my son got from school so feeling a bit under the weather. At 1pm I said I’m going to use my sick card and take a couple of hours off and go shoot my impact. rushed over and realized I forgot my Allen wrench set again so stuck with not the right m tune but I just wanted some trigger time with the new goodies and get rid of my 26.8 grain .25 slugs I bought a long while back.
it turned out to be a beautiful day at the range……except for the swirling 5-8mph wind. Very unpredictable even with improvised wind flag/bird strip. obviously every thing was over an inch but had a good time slinging lead down range and getting a feel for the hold sensitivity, impact is still no where near as comfortable as my GRS crown in my bench rest setup.
Here is my impact with ST lower rail and cheek riser. Yup, I even forgot my moderator!
I had a tight group at 100 until the wind decided NOPE! Pretty much all my groups today.
I shot this 4 shot group on the qualifying target so I can use the 300 yard range, nothing to write home about but good enough to get me i to the 300 yard range!!! Woot!!!
Overall a beautiful day and some trigger therapy to make me feel a bit better. Nothing great thanks to the wind but heavy liner clearly can shoot any .25 NSA slugs pretty well. Ordered a dedicated set of Allen wrench for the range bag so I won’t forget them again! Still need to tune my impact and clear out last remaining 26.8g, 34g and 36 grain .25 slugs, hopefully by the time I get to my 34.9 grain stash NSA will have them back in stock again. Really looking forward to the 300 yard range!
