Quick question about installing Wika gauge on my FX Impact MKII

I was hoping someone could answer a quick question for me before I wind up making a mistake that's not so easy to fix... I tried upgrading the Wika gauge on my Impact MKII and I'm not sure if I misinterpreted the PDF instructions for installing the new gauges that Huma-Air offers on their website. I removed the FX gauge and I started to try to remove the o-ring that was inside the gun underneath the FX gauge, but it's really stuck in there and I just wanted to confirm if this is indeed something that is meant to be remove and replaced with one of the two o-rings that came with my Wika gauge. I hope it is meant to me removed because here's what mine looks like now:

Please let me know if I should proceed with fully removing this seal from my Impact or not. Thanks so much!

In the past, I've always detached my bottle, dry fired the gun to depressurize the regulator, and then close the regulator valve by turning it clockwise all the way. Then when I reattached the bottle, as soon as I turn the regulator adjustment screw a 1/4 or 1/2 a rotation counter-clockwise, I can always see the regulator pressure gauge needle start rising slowly. Now I don't see any movement whatsoever of the needle on my newly installed Wika regulator gauge. It remains at '0' regardless of how far I turn it. I can hear the air siphoning into the regulator, but the gauge isn't reflecting it. Needle remains stationary.

Thoughts?

When you attach the gauge, if you screw it down too tightly, the o-ring can expand or become displaced and block air flow to the gauge making it not work properly. In other words, just make sure you didn't screw it down too tight., just snug. Loosen it and see if that helps.

You probably crush the o ring and seal air from going into the guage. When I install my wika guage. It just hand tight it and even back up a little to line up the gauge to where I want. The o ring will seal it. So dont need to be too tight.
