Quietest airgun...Taipan?

I'm going to buy one tomorrow once the pay check drops... super ecited as well! however i have to ask... Ive heard others complain of a negative POI change when moderators were put on a taipan vet... has anyone here had any problem with it? thank

Sweet 😎

Which model and caliber are you getting?

LoL dupe post 😋

Guess I'll throw some more pics in here!

My long is silly quiet 🤫. And stoopid accurate. What your going to love is the anti double load feature. You can decock the gun, mag loaded with a round in the chamber. Wont double load when you recock. Sweet setup. I disliked pups until I got this one.

Soon I’m going to find out how quiet a AZ shroud can be. Allen is making me a custom .20 cal with my request being for the quietest shroud he can make. I’ll be sure to post about it as soon as I get it.

When I visited him a couple summers ago I asked to see his quietest gun. It was truly unbelievable, all you could hear was the mechanical sound of the parts doing their thing, and he had somehow eliminated all of the air pressure sound. Really amazing.

I have a .22 Long with the Talon Tunes plenum upgrade. I too needed a quieter gun for my neighborhood. Took a chance on this one and have not been disappointed in either the quietness or the accuracy. It is really amazing how quiet it is. It also has a Donny FL Koi on it. It doesn't seem right when I smack the metal spinner target and there is hardly any noise from the gun (except the valve ping) but a loud pop and ringing coming from the spinning target. It's a little surreal. I came over from a Wolverine R HP in .22 which is not so quiet.

Do you mean just that the POI changes when putting a moderator on? Happens with most guns. As long as it still is accurate it doesn't matter. Mainly a change in harmonics so it'll likely hit in a different area.

no I meant I've heard of peoples accuracy being worse with a moderator...or at least that's what I thought it was.

Im looking at the .22 standard for my purchase tomorrow. I would eventually like to get a .25 long but the RTI prophet in .25 has my attention on that end. Thanks for the pics!

What makes a Taipan any quieter than say one with 40 O-rings other than being properly tuned with a thingy on the end? I am interested in a Taipan long with a green influenced stock color. Not sure just how heavy they are either. The rear cocking has got me second guessing them after currently owning a 40 O-ring model that also shoots lights out and is very quiet for the power it produces. I know the trigger would certainly be far superior like my Marauders are compare to my 40 O-ring model. I want one basically to replace my 25 cal barrel kit and stick with my 40 O-ring model as a .30 cal only. Taipan seems to be what I should be looking at. I can get over the rear cocking bit (Marauders).

Hard to say as I've never owned a 40 oring gun but what I can say is Taipans are just incredible little guns. Whoever designed them really did homework and created a very efficient and powerful gun that's built extremely well and simple. Well the trigger is complicated but man is it amazing! If you can live with rear cocking you would be amazed by them. And the anti double load is quite a nice feature to have if you haven't had something with it before. You know the guns I've owned in the past Keith. I sold all airguns I owned and have this one as my sole one now. Yeah I think that highly of Taipan Veterans.

Only other gun I'd point you to look at are the Uragans. I owned both a .22 and .30. Great accuracy and triggers. Very very comfortable. Nice and smooth forward cocking. I'd likely own one over the Taipan if they made a version in the 27"-28" range

That's what I needed to hear...I just ordered a 25 shorty...I'm crazy pumped!

You will love your new shorty!

.25 shorty puts out a lot of power for it's size and is not very quiet in stock form.

I recommend you contact Donny and put an adapter and SUMO on that bad boy

TATSU does a decent job on the .25 but SUMO is even better.

Here's my .25 shorty with a TATSU on it.

Keep us posted!

So I went with a huggett mini magna. It seems (at least to me) to be just a little bit quieter than my sumo
