Quietest Moderator for Atman AP 16 STANDARD?

Absolute quietest will likely be an emperor with extension which certainly will be longer than the gun and weight almost as much.

as to every single moderator question the tune is very important and length matters. So try a few and see which one gives you best weight, length and quietness combination. If you use it in pistol form then length and weight makes a big difference. Maybe start with hugget Belita/mini or try to find one of the plastic 3D printed moderator.

on my 1701P I’ve stopped using moderators all together because I tuned it down to 2 FPE.

Hello I have a compact and the DonnyFL koi works very well bu a bit long. Right now I have a DonnyFL Tatsu on it not as quiet but a little shorter. Also can use iron sights with both as well. If you are using a red dot and want it really quiet try a DonnyFL Ronin just a bit nose heavy. Hope this helps Eric

Thank you for that, I hope the SUMO dose the job but will keep your recommendation close by

Oh, I meant the pressure waves from the valve operation. generally we can get higher velocity with less volume of air charge if we use higher pressure. What this means is that the air expands sooner inside of the barrel, so there is less air pressure at the muzzle when the projectile exits. The opposite is true of a low pressure, high volume charge. Same projectile speed, more air volume means it takes longer to expand, and we have more air pressure at the muzzle when the projectile exits

Pressure being quite comparable to noise level.

If we can also create a scenario where the hammer only strikes and opens the valve once (as opposed to multiple times) we will once again reduce the volume of air charge exiting the valve and barrel, creatig less pressure, and less noise.

Do both and you can output some serious power at seriously quiet noise levels

Thank you for the explanation !

I editit it for better clarity. Trying my best to say things in an easily understandable way for anyone who might read it.

Generally, I like to run my pistols at 135 bar (higher will be quieter) But I find that to be a neutral zone where it's still not very loud, but allows me to run a softer hammer spring (which makes for an easier trigger break a lot of times) and a more tame/soft shot cycle.

I made my own for my standard. Used a CF tube 1"x5" and it is crazy quiet. Had to get donny's adapter to mount it. It made the gun extremely long, though the extra length seemed to steady my shot a bit. I've got a Hugget Atom to go on it next to see how that fares. It's only about 2" long but is heavier than the homemade one. Hoping to get the same results with it.

I had a Sumo on a .22 Taipan Mutant. It was quiet but looked like a soup can hanging on the end. I also had a Ronin on a .25 Veteran. Also quiet but way bigger than the Sumo. A friend stopped by to shoot and let me try his Huggett Atom on my guns. The Atom is 3 1/3" long and 1.22" n diameter, almost the exact same size as the Taipan shrouds. You would have to look close to know it was on the shroud. To my surprise, the Atom was noticeably quieter than the Sumo. Was it a fluke? I put it on the .25 and again, it was noticeably quieter. So, there goes the theory that says you need massive volume to keep the noise down. There's no need to ask what's on my guns now.

Thank you will look into the Huggett Atom, I wonder if the Huggett Belita Moderator would do a little better
