Quite excited, my rifle is complete since I finally added a scope.

Hi everyone this is my crazy story of getting a scope, I ordered a scope from aliexpress a while ago, it got confiscated by the Lebanese army haha, got into trouble and some search warrants. So, knowing the scope was completely legal... It still got confiscated so I sought out a scheme to get it smuggled, I was a bit pissed how my other scope which was a bit more high quality than this one got taken away. But still, I wasn't gonna let that stop me. So I smuggled it through the border haha! I had a friend hide it with him.

Anyways I am happy I finally got a scope, and owning it in Lebanese grounds should not pose a legal issue anymore. Has anyone got a tip on how to zero it without a bench rest? I don't have anything stable to do this properly so any help would be good!

I’m sorry to hear about the predicament with the first scope. However, your story about the second scope is awesome. It’s great to hear you were able to overcome their overreach. You could make some shooting sticks or make some homemade shooting bags. Either options isn’t particularly hard and there are a lot of YouTube videos that show you how to do it. If those aren’t options you could always fold some towels and find a stable table.

Ahh I see, well definitely a small shooting bag for the front like you said. Maybe if you have a chair with a suitable back height you can use it to support the rifle and just slide it up/down the butt of the gun to get slight changes of angle. If you do that make another small shooting bag. I’ve also seen people use shooting sticks to support the back of a rifle but seems hard without practice.

Ohh and another thing, should I get a large target paper or a small one, what if it's way out of zero that you don't even hit the the target, I wouldn't know how to zero then. Or even have a reference

Set up to start sighting in at 10-25 yards. 33.3ft

You don't want to try and sight in any further than that

Hitting a pencil dot at close distance repeatedly through your shot string will tell you if you have any chance at hitting your target at the longer ranges at all.

Damn that’s a crazy story. You are a rebel. I would’ve been Afraid to try something like that.I feel bad that you have to deal with such crazy things in your part of the world.Well at least you got the scope on it now.Yeah like other people said, I always site my guns in real close first then stretch them out to the yardage that I normally hunt at. Just remember that at first when you Site it in at close range that you will have to move the clicks more because most scopes are a 1/4” at 100 yards .

Every year when I went to check my deer rifle, I would just fold up my coat and lay it on top of the hood of my truck and shoot and it would always be dead center zero at 100 yards. And I used to buy the $40 Bushnell scopes back then and never had any issues With them at all. They work so good for me that I started putting them on most of my guns. But once you get the gun sited in at the distance you plan on shooting at, then try shooting just a little further and also a little closer to see how much you might have to hold over the target or maybe under the target close range. That way If a dove is it a different distance you will have a good idea on if you need to hold over or under the target at that particular distance.

Heat that sock of rice in the microwave and you have a warm compress for a sore muscle or joint. As for sighting in the scope. You seem resourceful, you will figure it out. Just out of curiosity. What air rifle (brand and caliber) do u have and what scope did you put on it?

The rice works well for drying damp electronics also. As asked above, the rifle appears to be the Artemis branded version of the Diana Stormrider, can't make out the caliber or scope type. I have the same rifle in .177 (2 versions actually) and it is a light, easy to shoot rifle that has been reliable for me. Congratulations to OP on your fortitude and success.
