Anybody know how or where to gets parts for my Edgun R5m. I have emailed him twice and tried to call Brian at Edgun West. Now reply. I emailed Edgun, No reply. I need a cocking lever spring. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
I'm sure ED will with get back to you , good to have your serial # of the gun handy also, because he likes to keep statistic's of the problems . May I ask is a older one or newer ?
EDgun West is the place. Maybe he's on vacation, searching for the answer, looking up where to get the part if he doesn't have one laying around and considering the cost.
My experience with EDgun West has been top notch. Brian knows every detail of these airguns and typically does respond fairly quick if he has the answers. Example: I recently sent him an email regarding the detent ball that holds/rotates the matador's fill port open/closed and he responded in minutes the size of the detent: 3mm. These can be easily lost if you pull the port cover off without thinking much. I bought the replacement detent on Ebay for about 6 dollars (for 10) and it worked like a charm. I replaced that today.
kayaker, actually I won my R5m here on AGN. I took possession of it in January. I think Brian and Ed both had a hand in that and I am eternally grateful, but nonetheless the spring on the right cocking lever broke and I need one. I am not trying to diss anyone, just hoping someone might know how to go about getting one...sasquach, maybe one of them will get back with me but it's been like 3 weeks since my first email. Thanks
Looks like you need a helical torsion type spring.
Perhaps try to match one from a small clothes pin or clip board or woman's hair clip or baby diaper pin.
Worst case make your own. If Hardware store you can't find a similar matching spring nor have similar diameter wire maybe fishing store steel leader line wire.
