Beeman R8 Hoard

Across the country from sea to sea, hidden in the back of Grandpa's closet, there are pristine old Beeman rifles that stop being used years ago. Now and then, after a loved one passes, they see the light of day after a decade or two.
The relatives left behind discover these treasures and have no clue what they are or how to deal with them. Many end up in Gun Shops or with Pawn brokers. Sometimes one of us finds one while lurking around the store and we are like kids at Christmas when we do. Christmas came in August this week at the Kingfisher residence. Not just an R8, but all the goodies too!!! KF must have been a good boy. Lol
Attached are a couple of pictures for your perusal. Enjoy!!

WOW...I found a FWB110 like that, original owner preferred his FWB150, never shot the 110, went into a nursing home...but I'm a good second owner who takes care of stuff. Still sad in a way?
I did not know that R8 even came with a test target?
Nice stock...did R8 get a "select" stock wood?
I believe that all of the Beeman line could be ordered with "select" stocks.

Nice score John! Guess you have been a really good boy!! Enjoy. Looking forward to you letting me shoot it. Have to compare it to that HW50E I got recently.

Come on down!!!! That would be awesome!! That 50E is a gem. This R8 has been tuned extensively and shoots without recoil. Been shooting it all afternoon. Trigger is superbly set as well.

Nice haul! I see you even got some spare springs too.
Looking forward to hearing how it shoots.

Ran about 20 shots through it this afternoon. It's definitely been tuned. Very calm cycle that ends with a thunk. Trigger is set on the light side for my taste. I'll be adjusting that. Aside from that....
It's an R8 and it shoots like one. There's a reason for the mystique of the rifles. They are truly a pleasure to shoot.
For all you HW30/R7 guys.....very similar but a little bigger. For you HW50 guys of today's model, very similar in size but less powerful and way easier to cock.

My daughter already said she will hire an auctioneer and everything go's !!! even the house !! sad . hopefully i can have enough time to sell some like the antiques and gun stuff .
Ahhhh...yeah...our kids might think it, but if I heard that, I would sell as much as possible, and spend the money myself. Also, I would say the OP got himself a nice rifle right there.

Nice. Really nice gun. I think they all came with select stocks. And scope angle. All Beemans came with a test target. I have an R8. The nice gentleman didn’t need it anymore. I have to say I prefer my HW50 over the older R8 (I never take the R8 out🤷‍♂️). HW50 is the “little Weihrauch that could”. Chintzy trigger block and all.
I definitely like the R8’s Monte Carlo stocks though. Classic. They will swap between the R8, old and current HW50, and HW55 F series. But where would you get one?
Wierauch should have their “Arteests” design some retro Beeman Monte Carlos.

Other than the R8, the best part is you didn't have to buy all the other stuff seperately. Took me years to acquire all that other stuff.
I remember having a JM tuned R8 15-20 years ago. The form factor was a little small for me, so I sold it. I remember it selling within hours, and I bought it at the time for $250. That was a bargain even back then.

Interesting information about the stock interchange between the current HW50 and the early Hw50 & 55T with the threaded ends. I was under the impression that the early Hw50 & 55T with the threaded ends were 25mm tubes. I know the current HW50 is 26mm. I wouldn't have thought the stocks would interchange unless I'm wrong about the tube diameters or the threaded 25mm tube is the same OD as the 26mm tube with the cast plug.

I love learning about these guns and am unclear about their genesis any information about them would be welcomeby me and probably a lot of people here.

Thank you
Ron
