Range Finder 5 to 75 yards

Does anyone make a cheap and simple range finger that only measures 5 to 75 yards? I just want something simple because I will never shoot out to 100 yards with my air rifles. Most range finders that I find on the market today are clearly for powder burners and designed to stretch out to 600+ yards. I simply do not need that.

I believe you'll have a hard, if not impossible, time finding one with a max range of 75 yards. I bought an inexpensive Simmons 7 or 8 years ago when I first got into airguns. Still using it without ever having had any problems with it. I paid $49 if I remember correctly. No need to spend hundreds! Check ebay, aliexpress or Temu type sites to find one that won't break the bank.

You might not be able to find a range finder with the limited distance you desire, as you already stated the main market is golf and powder burners. If I am not mistaken most optics these days are manufactured in China so looking on AliExpress for something inexpensive might fit your needs. Here is what a quick search I performed yielded: https://www.aliexpress.us/w/wholesa...g0o.productlist.auto_suggest.2.1449cTwQcTwQ1H Good luck & happy hunting.

I've never used a digital tape measure for range finding...(however, I think most max out at 150 feet or 50 yards, but there may be some out there that max out at longer yardages)

Wondering if that's viable option.

These digital tape measures are not cheap either.

But as stated, your regular run of the mill range finder should be able to give you accurate enough yardage information between 5 yards to 75 yards and most of them are not that expensive $20-$40 and if they can read to 600 yards...that's a plus right?

I don't think any company makes a range finder that has a 75 yards max limit. Just curious why you wanted a top limit of 75 yards. Unless you are looking for squirrel head shot precision past 50 yards. Then you might need a range finder that reads in 1/10 yard increments?

Why do you need a range finder that is only 5 - 75 yards? They dont make it cause no one wants it. Why would anyone want a 5-75 yards when a normal range finder can do 5 -3000 yards and still be able to use for your 5-75 yards range. Doesnt make any sense to me. A normal range finder that does up to 3000 yards can still be use for your purpose. That is why no company would make such thing. Just cause you dont need 100 yards plus doesnt mean you cant use a normal range finder for your 75 yard range. Just like buying a chrony that reads up to 5000 fps. Just cause i dont shoot 5000 fps doesnt mean i cant use it for my 800-900 fps guns lol

Imagine a car salesman saying what you just said while he tried to convince you to buy the Deluxe car vs. the Standard car. "Just because you don't want the heated seats does not mean you shouldn't pay me for them!" LOL
I don't understand why you are having a difficult time understand such a simple concept. I don't want to pay for features I don't want or need.

I only shoot springers and hand pump air rifles, so anything over 75 yards is just guess work anyway. I want to avoid paying for a feature I will never.

Last time I bought a range finder for my archery FT games that was probably about 15 years ago.
That Nikon was rated up to 500 m/y and it had inclination compensation as well. I think still the original battery inside and I use it couple times this summer at my silhouettes range in the club.
Not sure what is currently on the market.

What you don't understand if companies don't make a feature no body wants. Lol. No one wants a range finder that's limit to only 75 yards. Please find me a range finder that is 5-75 yards. There isnt cause no one wants one. Lol. If you want to use cars for an example, should say why people buy a car that's can go 140mph when we never go that fast. They should only make cars with 65mph max. Lol

But I want it, so how can you say no one wants it? My fiends and I with the CMP competitive rifle team want one. That's at least 70 different guys just in my area. I fail to see how "no one wants one."

Anyways, I'm moving on. Thanks

Just make sure it can make angle calculations! Most important feature by far imo.
