Rangemaster pellet experience for Revere .22 and RAW rifles?

It’s been a while since I posted some of my initial group testing with the Rangemaster 15.89:eek:r 18.1 pellets in my Revere.

If anyone else can post some of their targets or groups, would like to see how they did in your Revere. Ie., distance, velocity, conditions, etc.

Thanks.
I posted this in the 30Y challenge thread too, but because I used the Rangemaster pellets in the Revere, I wanted to update here as well.

Beautiful day here in NC, so went to the range and shot a bunch of challenge cards.

I shot two 40 yard cards and I will submit one 40Y Masters card for the next leaderboard. Edged out a prior card shot with my Royale .22 with JSB 18.1 pellets. 188-7X. Had four 8's that killed a potentially 190+ card. My guns seem to like '8's. ☹️

Shot 5 30Y Masters cards, all were in the 190's with the Rangemaster Sovereign 15.89 pellet. I think I found a new pellet for the Revere .22. First time in a long time, I decided to put two flags out, and boy did it help me. I usually just put a near flag out, but I know better and should be putting out two flags. I am starting to read the wind a bit better and had four Daystate Magazines loaded and ready, in case I had a good wind call. It paid off today. I shot some of these fast, only because I had a good wind read and wanted to shoot while the 10's and X's were coming. Lot more X's than I usually get, so between the Rangemaster pellets, the consistent velocity, two flags deployed --- this was the best day for the Revere in some time.

194-12X
194-12X
190-8X
195-13X ( will submit this one for next update ) I notated the very consistent shot string on this card.

190-8X - Royale

Hello
been reading through the thread and wanted to know if you wanted to try a test? I went through my closet and found a full tin of Sovereigns .22 15.9g from 10 years ago. People have said that quality is down in the current releases. I think they are correct. I have seen it with the 18.13g jsb’s that I also have from years ago. If you would like to do the testing, i could send you the tin. A little time capsule from the past.

Mike - one word. Sure!

I would be happy to test them and will PM you with my address. Thanks for the offer.

Tom

Mike - I shot your pellets today at my local outdoor range.

I shot two rifles; my Daystate Revere .22 and Weihrauch .22 at 40 yards. Wind was very light

Revere - .22 caliber
Scope - Sightron fixed 36X Slll 2FP
Distance - 40 yards
Wind - Light
Testing - Groups, every group was with the same exact POA, regardless of wind. I used the X-dot in bulls for POA on all groups

The Daystate Revere did a little better than the HW100 with your 10 year old original Rangemaster 15.89 pellets. The Daystate shoots them at 875 FPS and the HW100 at 805 FPS.

Here is a 30Y Masters card shot with those same pellets; and with the HW100 .22 caliber.

Thanks Tom
Thanks for taking the time to test out the old pellets.
I still believe that JSB has lost a step in their quality and controls.
Sadly, it was only one tin, but i am glad you saw a slight difference between the former and current productions.
Wish i had more so we could send a message to JSB.

@tommyb
What is your regulator set at for that shot strings please?
Thanks
Edward

Hi Ed

The Revere’s regulator is around 170 BAR, as it comes from the factory. I don’t have a reg tester, but I think that’s approximately where it is set, based on conversations with other Revere owners. I can Chrony it down from a full 250 BAR shot string next chance I get and estimate where it falls off the reg.

Why do you ask?

Thanks Tom

Agree Mike. JSB really needs to focus on QC and step up their game, at least the way I’m thinking.

I have some deep cavity 25.39’s on their way to me, and plan to shoot at 50 and 100 yards with my RAW HM1000x .22 HP.

How did the "DEEP" work out in your RAW?
I had a conversation with Martin, and he is recommending the Shallows...which did work better than the regular MRD's production, so i am very interested if the Deeps did as well?
here are some of the results from 100yards with the Shallows

The target has a 1 1/2 inch diameter circles

Funny you should ask Mike, because I cancelled my order with PYA on Friday because I had 4 tins of the new 28g Grands on back order. PYA told me May timeframe for availability, which is a wait.

So, although the Deep Cavity were in stock, I decided to order some new 16g .177 JSB pellets instead. Martin shipped my new RAW TM1000x .177 on Friday. I want to spend some time with the new rifle over the next couple of weeks.

Re. Shallows - now that I see your 100y groups, I may focus on getting some of those and will also try a tin of the Deep next time I order some. It may be a while though. But, I will definitely post my 100y groups when I get them in.

Those groups look good.
