Rapid Radio Users?

I had no clue that you should actually pay fees for using a walkie talkie. With use them at my job, and I thought that you just pay for the set.
The Rapid Radios are a regular walkie talkie set and also use the LTE cellular telephone network to transmit USA wide. Multiple radios can be in the group. Seems perfect for SHTF scenarios.

More research needed before purchasing...

Cell phones were down for at least four days here (in Western NC) after hurricane Helene came through. Some carriers' towers were more robust than others and their service was restored sooner.

Power was off for a week, as was cable and internet service for most. Water is still off for many of us here.

I wouldn't rely on a radio that needs cell-phone towers to function. The GMRS and ham radio communities have made a big difference when it comes to getting info out and steering resources to where they've been needed.

Cheers,

J~
