They eat well at the dairy. I shot 20 rats tonight, too cold, dark and mucky to take photos. My truck smells like the dairy and my dog goes nuts sniffing my stuff when I get home.

Got these fat bastards tonight, looked out at the feeder with the nightsite on the Boss and found the one on the left just below on the concrete ledge.

One on the left was in the feeder at the same time, stuck his head out and got it. Needed a closer with the pp700 and a super H-point.

These are from our Summer Solstice Rat Slaughter on Friday night. 

Nose to Nutsack end was about 10.5 inches. Check out the girth of the tail base on the rat to the left...looks almost 3/4" round.

Holy moly guys! Those Norway rats are huge! I shoot their cousin rattus rattus and they are no way near the size these Norways get! Keep the pics coming .

Ok guys I shot this one tonight , but is the second time I hit a rat and and five minutes later I go check it and it's still breathing, is this something just like a bad or different shot placement? Some of this has happened to someone else?

Yeah i've had ones that survived a shot, placement is key. And its normal for them to kick a while or do the helicopter tail trick. Nice work Rio!

Carlo and myself put a beating on these rats last night.

This isnt all of them, we didnt go into the barn and get those. Recovered over 50 and saw a few that were already being cannibalized! I saw one dragging another one up out of this little canal. Greasy little bastards.

Carlo was using his Streamline in .22 and me the Boss in .22 using hades again. They absolutely thump these creeps and I had a very high hit and drop percentage. Great night!

Nick's (socaloldman) post got me thinking. What if I dress my neighbor's chihuahua in a rat costume (HATE that loud little ankle nipper & I'm a SERIOUS dog lover) & put one through his brain pan. 2 problems solved, win the "largest rat" & rid the neighborhood of that mean spirited cur. THEN I remembered ETHICAL shooting & competition. Glad I've learned NOT to give in to my impulsive thoughts. The rats I've seen in California are wimpy compared to the ones in So. Chicago where I grew up (or never "grew up" depending on who's asked)

Only one tonight and it's been awhile. I've pretty much thinned out the herd within the last 2 years. For the past month, I've only seen about 1 or 2 rats around my house and it happens when I don't have my gun with me. By the time I retrieve my gun, they're gone.

This one's about 7 inches long without the tail. Shot it with my R5M in .25cal using Predators and a red filter for my light.
