Wow! That is quite a pack of rats. You don't necessarily need a night vision scope. A red light attached to a scope you own can be very, very effective. You could also use a red light to illuminate the area, good times for you ahead. I love shooting rats.

@bckyrdsnpr52, yes they do. I and others here in AGN have killed many, many rats with just such a combo. You can go fancier, but to start a red light will get it done. Just don't go missing a lot and educate them. Typically it should be the last light they don't see.

I currently use a green light setup, and while I love it, I would like to try an nv. I’m choosing the nv007 to be able to use it as a monocular as well as scope mounted nv.

Peanut butter with chocolate syrup in the middle (Dairy Queen it!) is a lovely 'sit down' dinner for rats under the stationary Home Depot red or green LED. Up the game with an XSH Doorbell camera that sends motion detection alerts to your phone.
You sit quietly in the dark after getting an alert then whack 'em.

A red flood light that’s constantly on over the bait station would be the cheapest way to go. Thermal would the most expensive way to go, I prefer IR scopes so I can see them clearly. If you got extra coins then get a thermal monocular so it’s easy to spot them anywhere.

L.leon thanks for the advice on the red light. Scored these 2 tonight. There were more but the possum scared them away.
