Western Airguns Rattler 357 and 45

I have the Rattler .357 with 700cc tank, and I run reg at 180 bar ( what I consider to be max power), 270FPE, and I get 15 shots.

I think what's happening with the .457 is having that super long barrel is allowing for less reg pressure to achieve that power, thus giving you the potential full mag of shots.
What grain slugs are you getting 270fpe?

Nice. I ask because mr hollow point's video shows it making 300fpe with 150gr... I don't know what's going on but either my gun or my chrono are very different from his.

You would have to be at 190-200 bar and some pretty heavy slugs to make that happen. I personally would not go over 180 bar. I've shot thousands of shots on this gun and have done every tune in the book to it and 180 bar with 160-174 gr slugs is its best high power sweet spot.

180 bar is where I landed after thousands of shots as well - If I use .358's I get an extra 60ish FPS from .357's but I hate using my seating tool because it's such a super tight fit in the cylinder with 0.80" slugs

Or maybe... a 36" barrel. Made this earlier in the week. Havent done much testing, but I put a 142gr in there and it was doing about 275fpe on 170bar.

Both of those sound like bad news for air guns. Here comes the regulation!

I agree. I saw a few videos on YouTube of them and other big bores with the tag line “no ffl required” and “shipped to your door with no background check”. While I like the videos and the no regulation, I’m not sure titles like that help us.

Yeah i thought the same when i saw those titles..Not sure why you would o that.I can’t imagine it gets them any more views if that is the reasoning. Its a shame

My Western Rattler 357 is still my favorite out of my collection. So freaking powerful and semi-auto, just so much fun to shoot. I can shoot all 15 shots at 270 to 250 foot pounds of energy as fast as I can pull the trigger.
They are nice guns! How loud ( or quiet) would you say they are? Almost backyard friendly? Hard to tell from the videos.

Barbara and I were lucky enough to be at Rio Salado when AoA came out and did the video on the long strike. We were 3 benches away and it wasn't bad at all. No ear plugs needed like a few other big bores that have been shot out there.

We did get to shoot it and it was a very nice rifle to shoot. More of a push back like a black powder rifle then a slam back like a 308.....

Backyard friendly🤔 I wouldn't shoot it in my backyard.
