I've got a large assortment of most of NSA's standard swaged ammo, from 196-350 grains in .457" diameter, so I need to size it down some. Shot lead from the Rattler 45 mics at .454" so we'll see what the Lee .454" sizing die that's in the mail does for accuracy. The NSA 1.039" long 350 grain HP-RBT got the tips cut down by .042" and they now all weigh 343-344 grains but with a bigger meplat and shallow hollow point.
As far as a similar HP-RBT swaged slug to the NSA 350 grain unit goes, I'd like to change the design slightly and give it a deep hollow inside, S4 profile and small meplat hollowpoint around this 1" length. They'd probably weigh in around 300 grains. This would also balance well and keep the centrifugal rotational forces on the outside along with removing some bearing surface area for less drag. The long range bc, flight and accuracy potential is there too, as heavy, long RBT slugs have traditionally flew well in the big bores. Also similar to the success of the Varmint Knocker, FX Hybrid, and RMR SLAP slugs, this HP design would produce a big devastating concussion in a coyote, deer or hog's chest cavity, similar to what the FX Hybrid and RMR SLAP slugs do to squirrel and birds.
