Western Airguns Rattler supressor

If it’s anything like the sidewinder suppressor the best advice I could give you is to just throw it in the trash. Mine was just a tube that was grossly oversized for a .30 with a series of small holes drillled in it. On the outside of the tube were baffles.

It had some sort of thread sealant on it and was very difficult to disassemble.

Yes …it just unscrewed from the barrel sometimes from the factory they put Loctite what I did was I took a hairdryer and I just heated it up a little bit and then it broke free
assuming yours has the same construction, this is the correct method as it was for mine as well.

Personally I disagree with @Sawney Bean, I find the mod and shroud from the factory is actually really impressive. Also welcome 🤗 to the forum

@Bernie7 - was your experience with the Rattler or the Sidewinder? I have heard others say that their experience with the Rattler moderator was like yours, but I agree with @Sawney Bean on the Sidewinder moderator. Something must be different with them in design or application. Of course if it was with the Sidewinder, we all have our own opinions and experience!

In my case the Sidewinder is a .22, and I'd bet that I have the same moderator as the .30, so you can imagine how oversized that tube was for me . . .

I've heated it to near untouchable, close to melting plastic, and with pointed pliars stripped paint and aluminium, without success.

Suggestions?

I agree w/ @Sawney Bean that the Sidewinder Mod is fcking trash. Even on the lowest power report is loud, Mod50 on same power all you hear is the action.

Rattler Mods are decent on mines on low power, but when I bump up to mid power and above, it's loud AF.

So if anyone has a rec for high power moderator for the Rattler, I'm all ears as well!

three things to help quiet your rattler down: i had the same issue its loud as hell if im getting over 900fps from 150gr slugs
1. turn up your regulator to 180 bar - be careful, and re read the manual how its done and dont turn it back down while pressurized
2. tune it properly with that power knob so youre not wasting any extra air which just makes it loud without getting much more velocity. i can get it up to like 930fps but it takes like double the air and dB, so drop it back to high 800's. the stock moderator can handle shorter bursts of higher pressure air
3. put a ton of 1mm holes all over the shroud and moderator. helps let the pressure dissipate a bit before it all blows out the .39 hole
