Your first target, if I read it correctly, was on pace to a 218 out of 250 (if all 25 were fired at 75 yards)

Once you have the new scope, you wont have problems seeing your holes in the 75y target.
The two biggest things that most people fight are pellets and wind.
For example your 25cal in a 10mph cross wind is drifting about 11.5" at 100y. Get on http://www.phoenixairgun.net/ and check out Mark's video on wind.
Getting together a set of pellets that shot the same shot after shot is the holy grail in air guns...

One of my customers was out practicing with his new BM500x 30cal... He stopped by to show me his progress....
What ever he is doing... it seems to be working.......

I just took delivery of your twin in .30, but thumbhole stock. Just came from sighting her in. 50 yards is one holes, 75 yards I shot 3 five shot groups the size of quarters... can't wait to learn how to shot her now!!!

Excellent! They are already great groups, and you just got started! I have to admit I do not have to do wind because I am only indoors (100m), but one day I need to grow up and join the big boys

I am finding that my RAW 1000X in .25 does not shoot as nice as the .30 cal results that have been shown. My research shows that the .30 cal is a different animal. Wind affects .25 more and I am having trouble with fliers. Will need to send it to a tuner to see what he can do with it.

The gun is only one part of a system that includes you, the pellet, the hold, the sight, and the environment. If you have a RAW it has already been tuned by the best. It is a gun you should think twice before thinking twice about screwing with it. If it needs a refresh send it back home to Tennessee.

No, I've been waiting on a new scope. I would also like to resolve the issue with the bouncy velocities described in another thread. Hopefully that can be taken care during my meeting with Mark-RAW/Phoenix.

I really haven't got to test mine out real good yet but velocity seems to be consistent but haven't chronographed a long string. It is about 930fps after i turned hammer spring in.

I ordered and received 2 Sightron III 10-50x60 scopes, FCH and MOA-H reticles. I didn't like the MOA-H so it went back. Frankly I don't see much difference in clarity and performance with the Sightron III compared to my previous Hawke Airmax 8-32x50 scope. I suspect someone more experienced would be able to appreciate the difference in quality but I can't.
Just before visiting the Phoenix Airgun Club at their recent 25m/100yard benchrest event I met with Mark Buchanan with RAW (Phoenix) to address the variation in velocities described in a previous post. Mark disassembled the rifle and did some work on the hammer to make it operate more smoothly. Hopefully that will help to level out the velocity spread experienced before. I can't say enough good things about RAW and their representation in Phoenix. Not only are the products they produce top notch but they back it up with service that is second to none. One look down the firing line at a Phoenix Airgun Club meet will show that many agree.

The Sightron has up to 50x magnification; quality of optics becomes more demanding at high magnification. The Airmax has 32x magnification, and its a lot less expensive (nothing bad implied about performance from that). Does the FCH reticle have any additional aiming points other than where the cross hairs intersect? What did you not like about the MOA-H reticle?

Good point about the magnification as I forgot to consider that in my comment. I probably should've said that at 100 yds. there didn't seem to be much improvement in the image between the two scopes. Maybe the Sightron III is overkill for my application.
The FCH reticle is simply 2 fine crosshairs. There are no marks or dots. Since I am using the scope only for target shooting my thinking was that I could use known distances on the target as reference points. I'm still learning and trying things out so I'm not sure this will work for me. I returned the MOA-H primarily because the sight picture looked too cluttered but also because it didn't add anything to the effort. Frankly, if I had to do it over knowing what I now know I would've kept the Hawke. I don't think the Sightron III will improve my performance especially based on my skill level. One thing I miss on the Hawke are the lense covers, which the Sightron doesn't have. I purchased some Vortex covers but they didn't fit. The bag included with the Sightron that covers the entire scope is nice for storage but not convenient for temporarily covering the glass while on the bench. The Sightron also didn't come with a sunshade extension unlike the Hawke.

Have u shot it since it was worked on? I haven't shot my HM1000X in about a month except i chronographed it a couple of times. Just 2 or 3 shots each time. It is shooting a little too fast i think. Won't know until i shoot it off the bench if it will be accurate at 950fps with 25.39 JSB.

Yes, I shot the rifle a couple of times since Mark did his magic to it but haven't had a chance to chronograph it yet to see if the velocities stabilized. I expect to do that in a couple of days.
