hi guys any one here have the raw 500 mk11 if so what do you think of them build quality accuracy.
​lothar walther barell verses benchmark barrels. oh and yes they offer a polygonal barrel too as well.
​last but not least the trigger.

​is a bench mark barell better than a lothar barell accuracy wise.

I don't have the BM 500, but do have the TM 1000 with the .177 polygon barrel. I'm pretty sure it's the same barrel as in the BM 500. I can't compare it to the bench mark barrel (didn't even know there was such a brand). I can compare it to the Smooth Twist barrel and can say that it's definitely more accurate. At least for the two given barrels I have. The build and quality of the RAW rifles are as good as it gets. They are hand built. Martin assembles every rifle himself. I give the build quality and accuracy both A+. I know I'm not directly answering the LW vs Bench Mark barrel question, but thought this info. could be helpful for you.

If you look at competition results the Thomas and RAW are the top two rifles, both running the polygonal barrel.

I put in the caviot of "at least for the two given barrels I have" because I can only say what's so for the three ST barrels I've had and the one LW Polygon barrel I have. Definitely not saying all LW Polygon barrels are more accurate than all ST barrels. AND, as Percula mentioned, if you look at all the field target and benchrest matches, the LW Polygon barrel on the RAW BM's and TM's are often up there at or near the top.

If you are referring to the 75/100 yard BR competition, that would be because LW doesn't make a polygon barrel larger than 0.22cal, and you really need 0.25cal or larger to consistently compete on that range with the wind at those distances (trust me I shoot there a couple times a month).

Yeah, I'm psyched. I just saw that RAW is offering their HMX in .25 with a polygon barrel. 

In my experience, my .177 polygonal barrel likes the 13.4 JSB;s the best for sure, but the 10 gr heavies aren't that far behind. I was at a match last winter and a guy was shooting the 16gr JSB's out of his .177 BM 500.

I love my BM-500 MK-2, but have only had it since second Week of December, will see when I can get outside in the conditions how the LW poly barrel works? Right now just shooting indoors, trigger is really nice, no creep, guessing about 3-4oz pull weight! Its no jewell trigger( if you've pulled one of those), can't say about any other barrel both of mine have LW BARRELS one standard one poly, the benchmark might have been a custom order? or martin wasn't happy with LW @ the time? Do know that benchmark, bartlien, shilen, brux, krieger etc. are namely competition centerfire makers, have had them all @ one time or another, dont know if they will choke them or if martin did that or installed them unchoked?, anyway getting sidetracked!, I know you would be very happy to own one, They Shoot!

Hi aa, I have a BM500 MK2 specifically built for HV class 25m. The poly barrel is the barrel to have now days, RAW makes it to where you can index the barrel for fine tuning. RAW makes highly precise rifle with craftsmanship that IMO can't be touched by anyone. Only other rifle that is as competitive costs 1500$ more. The adjustable trigger is clean and crisp. BUT! The best part of all in owning a RAW is the customer service. I talk to Martin or Mark a couple times a week, very easy to get in touch with.
Give them a call and they can build a setup to do exactly what you want it to do.

Yeppers, 27.5ft/lbs, open class or unlimited class.

The 16gr pellets aren't as accurate as the 13 gr in my TM 1000, but it's only pushing them at 700fps. I'm sure if the power was turned up, they could be as accurate as the 13 gr. That could make them and the rifle a 50m rifle as well as a 25m one!! Would love to se the RAW's with a power wheel for just such things. Anyone else have those thoughts about a power wheel for their RAW?
