All my regulated guns velocities can be changed (within a window) via the hammer spring tension. If I wanted to go outside of that window I would change the regulator setting as well. So far, I have not needed to go there.

if i get the raw bm 500. im asking to get it set to 15 foot pounds .177
that is about 800 fps with baracuda match
how much of a windo do i have to tune lower or higher than 800 fps with the hammer spring withoutchanging the reg pressure?

AA, I was playing around with the HS on my TM 1000 this past weekend and could move it (increase it) 50+ fps before the ES and SD started to increase. Of course every spring and every rifle is different, but that might give you a sense of things.

My TM 1000 is in .177. Currently with what the regulator is set at (I think around 115 bar) and with the HS right int the middle, it's shooting the 13 g's at 770 fps with about a 1.75 SD and an ES for one card (25 - 27 shots) of about 10 fps. This is from memory.
When I turned up the hammer spring, it was shooting the 13 g's at around 830 fps, and the SD went up to around 2.25. I'm going to play around with it some more to see how fast it will shoot the 13 g's with a SD below 2. Then I'll shoot groups with about a 25fps difference between groups and see what the most accurate speed is. Then do that with the other weight pellets as well. This is the fun part!!

what do you mean with the hs set right in the middle?
1.75 sd sounds great so do a es of 27 shots of 10 fps.
most air guns do do as good as that.
my air wolf has an es of 15 for 10 shots
did your reg take a while to break in? if so what was yr es and sd when it was new?

By right in the middle, I mean the way it came from RAW. the screw head/plate is flush with the breech block. I've turned it clockwise so that the velocity increases and the head/plate becomes recessed. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm assuming that I can turn it counter clock wise so that the velocity decreases and the screw head/plate will stick out a bit from the back of the breech block. I'll let you know if this is so.
I didn't do any testing with ES and SD when it was new. Just looked at velocity, so I can't compare. It's still pretty new. Have only had it since December and probably have only put 500 rounds through it. So, don't know if this is enough to break in the regulator.
