RAW HM 1000X in .22 cal Premium Custom Edition

I have a TM1000 in .20 cal. in a benchrest style stock which I bought from Steve Smith @ WWAG. I have shot a 750 with 26 X.s with it. Tomorrow I receive my second R.A.W. rifle, the BM500 LW. Can't wait to shoot it. I need it for the Light Varmint Class. Best L.V. rifle I already have is the A.A. S400 MPR FT. However, it likes to shoot up around 850 FPS which takes it out of Light Varmint.

You already have a real nice rifle....Now with a new BM500 LW on the way...I'm envious!! I hope you can put a small review together and post it. Martin make a great rifle!. Lately, I have been thinking that I "NEED" another RAW rifle so that I can compete in either LV or HV class. The crazy idea has it's way of creeping in and out of my thoughts. It's only the power of the Almighty Wallet that keeps this idea at bay. I would like to just purchase another stock and transfer the action between the two and have 1 rifle for 2 classes, but my rifle is currently set at 35ft\lbs, getting great results, so I am reluctant to de-tune it to a lower FPS. Ohh the Dilemma!
What Caliber is the new BM500LV?

Mike I'm curious about the special barrel Martin fitted. Is it a LW? Looks to be either stainless or painted silver.

I went out to last month's Phoenix Airgun Club event but arrived later in the day well after the event had ended. I missed last weekends event though I plan on attending in the June event. Do you ever make it out this way?

The barrel is not a LW, it is stainless steel, but beyond that, only Martin knows who's making his premium barrels

I was trying to locate another thread that I subscribed to, but it doesn't seem to be anywhere on the forum any longer. Is the rifle very quiet? I remember reading something about the sound level, but again, I can't find it anywhere. Do you know of any video reviews which display the sound level of the HM1000x? Thanks. Beautiful rifle also, by the way!

moderator's that RAW makes are very good! Certainly as effective as other comparible brands. Martin can make an extra long one if you need it even quieter.
It would be cool to see a video comparison with some other guns.

They come in so many flavors. The ported steel sleeved one can have bark. I have both an HM1000 .22 and a factory Marauder .22 both at 30fpe, the Marauder is much much louder than the RAW . I have the CF mod on mine. I've not heard (eh?) a large number of 20fpe .177 RAW's with the full shroud.

spysir that is interesting that the RAW is quieter than the Mrod. I also have a .22 Marauder though mine is regulated and tuned to 39 fpe. It seems very quiet to me. If that's the case my .25 HM1000x should be about the same. Maybe? Hopefully.

If there is anyone in the DC,VA,MD area that has one they would let me shoot, I would be very appreciative. It is a hard sell for me to spend the money on a quality product site unseen/ no hands on.

Sypgear I know what you mean about buying sight unseen but unfortunately I think that's what most airgunners end up having to do. There are only a very small handfull of dealers that sell these high end guns and most people don't live near one. I know I don't.

Bad thing is I was Just traveling cross country for 3 weeks. I was in AZ and in the Phoenix area for a week or so of that time. If I was thinking clearly and took my time, I would have stopped into AoA. I was .25miles away from them for 2 days.!!!!
That and I know lots of into the higher end gear tend to be a bit of a recluse when it comes to these things. That is, until there is a worthwhile metope where lots of us will be around.
I am really debating on what I want now. That Bobcat is nice and proven in a bullpup/ carbine. My Shortlist had the IMPACT on it too. Another bullpup. Also wanted one of the RAW HM1000x in .357 or .25 and or a Wolverine 303.
If I skip the Bobcat, I could go right into a rifle and hold on the bullpup till the impact comes available.

I know there are so many awsome guns and I can't play with any of them unless I buy them. I'm getting a RAW but I really want to check out the Impact. I was torn between that and the HM1000x. I guess I will just have to save my pennys. Maybe get one next year.
