RAW Rapid Raw hm1000x modifying the valve

Steel on Steel .. period is seldom a good combo as it is prone to seizure / galling etc ...
In such a case a lined poppet stem bore is a good idea .. BUT, has the probability of the pressure within valves throat during the firing cycle may very well spit the lining material out towards hammer. * ONLY if liner has a shoulder on it and inserted from the throat side can one prevent this from happening.

I prefer a BRASS seat and a poppet head of PEEK. When making these I use Precision drill rod for the poppet stem and REAM the brass seat @ .0015 larger than stem diameter. The blow by is negligible and with some lube applied the wear is non existent.
Could do a brass sleeve, best of both worlds

I make the valves with the delrin liner. It's more efficient and so far after thousands of shots, none failed in guns of various users around the world.

I've been shooting and competing with RAW TM's and HMX's from 12fpe .177cal to 98fpe .30cal pellets and also 90fpe .22cal slugs with the stock valves and regulators with no issues. At higher powers more plenum helps, and the new HMX's have more internal volume, and RAW now offers extended plenums out the front of the action. I've not seen any measurable benefits by changing the valve, but I do replace the exhaust valve Delrin poppet after between 5,000-10,000 shots IF it starts leaking. I've used PEEK valve seats as Scott suggested too, but it requires getting the brass seat and the PEEK valve poppet finish and fit perfect or it will slowly leak because PEEK is so hard and doesn't deform for any deviations in that sealing surface.
