Awesome! Thank youyou know you can always remove the cf from the barrel and run a new piece of cf and make it like they sell them today , ive done it if you have an interest , i have pictures , then you can run any length of moderator or none at all if your out and about
or best fittingsAwesome! Thank you. Do I also order a unf 1/2 20 adapter from Martin or Donny?
its a little bit of work and being careful , but if your a little bit of a craftsman you can do a nice job !the old cf comes off good using a 5 inch flooring scraperAwesome! Thank you. Do I also order a unf 1/2 20 adapter from Martin or Donny?
Please excuse my ignorance in this matter: BUT...I cannot seem to get anyone to explain to m what removing the cone shaped piecer has to do with mounting a Ronin from DonnyFL. I have everything off but the cone shaped piece, I cannot see how the Ronin will mount to the barrel even with the adapter recommended by Donny. I am assuming the moderator simply replaces the current device. But there are no threads on the Ronin or moderator that fit the end of the barrel. I am going to return it, if I can, Way beyond my skill level.its a little bit of work and being careful , but if your a little bit of a craftsman you can do a nice job !the old cf comes off good using a 5 inch flooring scraper
I think the OEM cone adapter either has a grub screw or is bonded (glued) on. If glued, then heat is needed. You might want to contact Martin @ RAW, he will call you back if you leave a message, great guy. Please excuse my ignorance in this matter: BUT...I cannot seem to get anyone to explain to m what removing the cone shaped piecer has to do with mounting a Ronin from DonnyFL. i ended up cutting mine off , i couldent find anything that would fit it or whatever , it made me mad and i wanted it off worse , my dremmel caught fire so i finished it with a hack saw , in the end my gun looks beautiful with a glossy cf tube on it , and the moderator makes it verry quiet now , i have a bag of parts that will NEVER go back on ! now if i want my moderator off i simply unscrew it ,Please excuse my ignorance in this matter: BUT...I cannot seem to get anyone to explain to m what removing the cone shaped piecer has to do with mounting a Ronin from DonnyFL. Were did you get the new carbon fiber sleeve?you know you can always remove the cf from the barrel and run a new piece of cf and make it like they sell them today , ive done it if you have an interest , i have pictures , then you can run any length of moderator or none at all if your out and about
amazon , 16mm ID> 18mm OD , i took a heavy duty 5in floor scraper and cut the cf off the barrel . i used fiberglass resin brushed on the barrel with a 2 in. hair brush "not too heavy " dont have much time so dont worry about a dry spot , as you slide it on rotate the cf shroud and have a rag with some acetone ready , , preparation goes a long way ! have a wet acetone rag ready before you start , it doesnt take but a thin coat and get going ! lots of different styles to choose from , youll need your slip on threaded end on hand so you know where to stop your cf shroud . if you dont feel comfortable doing the job im sure one of these fine craftsmen on here could do the job !Were did you get the new carbon fiber sleeve?
i couldent figure what it was ! grub screw or , so i cut mine off ,I think the OEM cone adapter either has a grub screw or is bonded (glued) on. If glued, then heat is needed. You might want to contact Martin @ RAW, he will call you back if you leave a message, great guy.

Would that moderator still fit if you have the whole barrel sleeved? I know it goes over part of the barrel and people like that so they can take off the stock moderator and not have to re-sleeve it. Mine is fully sleeved but I want one like that.View attachment 359298Very nice new Neil C's mods! My older HMx RAW has Martin's OEM conventional carbon fiber mod and looks similar to Neil's carbon fiber models and is back yard friendly on my .22.
I haven't taken mine off....I think mine is glued on. If you send yours to Martin, he can install a unf 1/2 20 adapter and shortened carbon fiber sleeve, then you can add any moderator of your choice, I almost did that with mine when I sent mine in for service, was also thinking of adding a 700cc bottle....Would that moderator still fit if you have the whole barrel sleeved? Mine was glued on but it didn’t take much effort to remove it, you can buy 1/2” unf adapters and fi them yourself, just measure the od of the barrel and order the correct size.I haven't taken mine off....I think mine is glued on. Bb, do you know if the front OEM LDC cover on an older round version is threaded so I can remove it to see inside to see if there are baffles inside...or do you know if they came with baffels? It’s been a few years since I removed mine and threw it away, but from memory it unscrewed and left the aluminium section on the barrel, there are no baffles as such, just a mono block construction that screws onto the aluminium section.Bb, do you know if the front OEM LDC cover on an older round version is threaded so I can remove it to see inside to see if there are baffles inside...or do you know if they came with baffels?
