RAW HM1000X question (UPDATE)

I just wanted to let everyone know what I’ve found out this evening. I emailed Martin and RAW and Martin thought maybe I needed to adjust the hammer spring slightly. Him and RAW also asked about how I was using the chronograph. After more reading and thinking about how I was using the FX chronograph in the edge of the woods in my shooting range with it setting on the table I decided to try an experiment this evening. I used rubber bands and hung the chronograph under the barrel about 6” back from the muzzle and shot it out in the open in my backyard. I did 3 36 shot strings and the worst was an ES of 14 and a SD of 3.5 with unsorted pellets straight out of the tin. Nothing wrong with the gun. The fx chronograph is a lot more touchy than I realized. Here’s a 36 shot group at 33 yards.

Glad you got it figured out. It’s not surprising that there wasn’t anything wrong with the new rifle. Martin builds and shoots everyone that leaves their facility and I can’t imagine that he would let anything pass his QC checks that had any issues. Thanks for updating your thread and welcome to the RAW club.

Zach, great to know your RAW is shooting as you/Martin expects and he responded to your inquiry! How often does one get to have a conversation with the custom builder himself!? Good stuff...enjoy shooting it! The ES will get better over time as things setlle, crazy good regulators in these.
That's great advice for Zach. My 25 shot really crappy first time I took it out but second time was a charm, especially when I tried slugs. We both know the 22 cal loves slugs as well 😏
