I realize this thread hasen't been replied to in a bit, but I don't want to start a new one as it is worth adding onto this topic.
The RAW MicroHunter 177 is quickly becoming my favorite daily shooter. The trigger is phenomenal. The ergonomics are excellent. It's got decent power as I've got 10.4gr pellets going around 775fps without touching the reg or anything. Shot count, after adding the CF bottle, is quite good for me - getting at least 80-90 shots on a 250bar fill before hitting the reg @ 150bar.
The one thing, which is the whole point of this thread, which was throwing off the experience, was the high number of fliers as others describe as well. I tested at least 20 different 177 pellets and the only one which would shoot hole-in-hole at my indoor 10 yards was the 16.2gr Beasts. But whatever - they were at least very very accurate - and yet it still drove me crazy I couldn't shoot a simple 10gr pellet.
I was considering having the MicroHunter re-barreled but luckily LWs website was being redone over the holidays so I wasn't able to order a blank. Turns out that ended up being a favor as there were two brands I never tested: JTS and AEA. Their 177 offerings were just hitting the US stores mid-2024 and had some availability issues for a while. Last week I ordered up some tins:
AEA 10.3gr
AEA 13.7gr
JTS 10.4gr
The AEA 13.7gr did very well. Their 10.3gr did no better then any of the other rejects. The JTS 10.4gr is a standout showing excellent hole-in-hole performance at 10 yards.
If anyone else from this thread still has their 177 MicroHunters and wants to test out the JTS and report back I'd be curious if this is the golden ticket pellets for these barrels.
EDIT:
Adding in regard to the OP's question about the stripper. Take a 8mm hex and make sure the muzzle insert is in snug. Then take a 6mm hex and unscrew the stripper CCW until it backs up to the insert. There's no chance of wiggle that way and shots also appear to be the quietest.
