RAW Microhunter

Yeah…appears they had to go with the smaller in diameter alum bottle to get clearance for the shroud. Shroud doesn’t appear to be helping with the bark..over 100 decibels. Adding a moderator will result in a longer gun.

Very strange they opted for dovetail rails? Considering all current hm actions are picatinny.

Even the larger hmx with more plenum would help this build.
But as a whole, short barrels makes for loud guns. At a point it get very difficult to make any kinds of efficiency. You reach a threshold where no mater how much you increase the reg pressure….the pellet is long gone before peak pressure is built.

For what the gun is, the price is wayyyy too high. This is a gun that most likely measures up to the size of an edgun classic, but gets less shots, less power, and worse accuracy. Even when having a larger air capacity? For how much time they've spent on it, it should be damn near perfect.

I wouldn’t say edgun classic at all. This directly competes with the likes of the evol mini, panthera hunter, pathfinder Etc.
but it doesn’t do anything better than any of those others. It can’t make the power of the panthera, it can’t beat the ruggedness of the evol, or efficiently and weight of the pathfinder. It’s just not gonna sell! Unless you’re a die hard raw guy that needs all the raw offerings in your stable.
It’s also typical raw efficiency. Hammer bounce was never addressed with this platform.

I'm not familiar with the Raws, and I'm also not saying that it's competing with the Edgun Classic. That's a very old design. I use an edgun classic .25 350mm and .177 250mm. I've gotten 54fpe out of the classic and been able to get moa and sub groups at 50yds at the set up. Getting just 9 shots, but again, that was at 54fpe. That's why I make the comparison, RAW should be way ahead of a gun this old. But I can see how it would be trying to compete with the evols, or the pathfinder. I just wouldn't even have it as a pick based of the video and the stats.

I don’t find efficiency that awful
One of my builds has a 16” barrel with one piece shroud moderator. Overall gun length is 41”
I get well past 100 shots at 30fpe. With jsb 18
It it an older hmx action though.

It's a very disappointing gun. From what it costs to how it performs I would pick my Notos over it anyway. If I won one in a raffle and got it for free I'd sell it and buy the Notos lol. I do think it was tuned too hot based on the shot string as a proper tune you should have a few shots off reg in the same speed range. It dropped right away so that was off. I realize I'm being harsh but really this many years spent and this is how it is? I was excited for this gun to come out. Back to the drawing board lol

Pyramyd air insider with Tyler Patner just put out a new review of it. Check it out on YouTube.

Is this the video?

Can't find any videos on how it shoots, every video so far is simply "this awesome little gun" without explaining what they mean by awesome.

EDIT: never mind, finally found the video. Had to put Tylor Patner in the search to find it, it's almost like they don't want people find the video. 🤔

The numbers AND accuracy are absolutely ABYSMAL like @Dairyboy mentioned. It only gets 15 shots at 30FPE with 100db noise in .25? It's like a 4 banner Honda civic with a fart can, a whole lotta noise and goes no where fast. This is even far worse than I thought, it's so bad it's a head scratcher......is this a joke?

Piston length barrels, will yield pistol results.
Doesn’t really matter what fancy name u give it,
The best pcp in the world will yield awful results trying squeeze juice out of a 8.5” barrel

The gun is 27 inches long, at the same price but 3 inches longer the Pathera compact .25 is rated up to 70FPE vs 30FPE. The L2 short .25 is 25.5 inch long has more shots, power and far better accuracy but a few hundred bones more. Impact compact is 25 inches with far more of everything. BroCock Atomic XR compact is in the same power range but 23 inches long, far more accurate and on sale at $1099 right now at AOA which is a good deal for a brilliant little carbine. Then there is the @Dairyboy special, the Noto!

So why use 8.5 inch barrel on a 27 inch gun when they couldn't get it to perform? No one held a gun to their head to make the gun the way it is.

@qball - Thanks for the video, I could't find any. No wonder. Very disappointing results. My Taipan is the same size, gets more shots and has a higher fpe. Saved myself $2k!

So it is me or Taylor's facial expression on thumbnail picture says WTF? 🤔 :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Lol I agree. I said on the video he should have done .22 instead of .25 as it would be a more usable gun maybe. He said he would have loved to but thus is what they sent them. I think if this is the gun they sent them that's very concerning 🤔

My Evol Mini has a 10.5" barrel and I can get plenty of power out of the gun and excellent efficiency. Yeah it's more money but doesn't mean that just cause there is a short barrel you can't get good results out of it.

I got 36 shots @ 25 fpe (with hades) it would be 30 fpe with 18.13) on the reg from 3000 - 1650 psi, meaning if I filled to the 4000 psi cap, I would be yielding 60 maybe a little more shots out of a tube and a 10.5 inch barrel.

The evol mini is a true champion in efficiency and power in relation to other rifles out there even with bottles.
