RAW Microhunter

Lol I agree. I said on the video he should have done .22 instead of .25 as it would be a more usable gun maybe. He said he would have loved to but thus is what they sent them. I think if this is the gun they sent them that's very concerning 🤔
FWIW, I always struggle with the small guns, especially from the bench. I definitely think .22 is the way to go in the micro hunter from an efficiency stand point. But I'll be blasting critters with the .25 in the backyard just fine as well.

My Evol Mini has a 10.5" barrel and I can get plenty of power out of the gun and excellent efficiency. Yeah it's more money but doesn't mean that just cause there is a short barrel you can't get good results out of it.
Generally u loss 10fps per inch of barrel lost.
Rough rule of thumb.

I get 860fps with jsb18 gr on a 118bar (1700psi) reg
With a 16” barrel…..raw hmx action.

The gun is plenty efficient. The 8.5” barrel length is killing this build

It’s not just the barrel. The aluminum bottle, the noise, the lack of accuracy in a skilled man’s hand (whether he says he’s good with small guns or now), are all red flags for it not being a good option.

All those signs you listed are signs for me to stay away. However, this is Murica and people are free to spend their money to try it. I would love to see someone actually trying one and shared the experience. There are 2 outcomes: it’s better than we thought or we can go to town with “I told you”. Either way it’s internet and good entertainment. 🤣

There was a topic about this gun a couple months ago. Some guys defended the hell out of it when I didn’t have much nice to say about it. Maybe one of them will buy one and share some numbers. Even before that video, I think only a clueless sucker would buy a .25. There are quite a few guns in its size and price range. It isn’t holding a candle to any of them. If Ed can get my original Leshiy with a 250mm barrel to spit 18gr pellets, quietly, accurately and efficiently with that tiny air tube, this little RAW is embarrassing. Don’t care what caliber. It can be done with a short barrel, Ed proved it.

A ways back I did some research on short ~30fpe builds for a truck gun. I don’t think I even finished the video. I saw the groups at 45yds in an indoor range and lost interest. I would much rather have an RTI compact or another lightweight bull pup design for a longer barrel in a similar overall length. And if I buy a $2000 gun I had better sell some guitars out of the collection to justify it.

Same with Tom at AAA. Evol Mini efficiency is insane from a 10.5" barrel. Hes working on a mini .30 and gets 18 shots at 75fpe. 135cc airtube. Yes 4000psi fill but only 135cc vs 210cc of the RAW. No comparison

Don't tell people that, they're limited production guns already I want one

Hope RAW can refine the Micro and turn it into a competitor among similar guns. It looks robust and well made, it needs some updating, hint, change that bottle and drop the .25 offering. I personally don’t see the need for a .25 in such a small package. This applies to my Atomic and Pathfinder XRs, would never consider them in .25

I’m thinking along the same lines - Brocock Atomic or even concept lite make more sense - but not past a .22 offering. Noise gets up there close to rimfire levels.
