RAW REPORT

"SMH77"Yeah, I just got done shooting again (35F with 10 mph winds gusting up to 25 mph) and I have to say, there really is nothing wrong with the performance of the RAW triggers. It really did break super cleanly with zero creep. I guess I would just like a bit More adjustability in terms of positioning the blade. If I could get the Rowan blade to work, that would be great. I’m a bit irritated about that blade right now-but that’s no fault of the RAW trigger unit really (except that it didn’t come more adjustable from the factory, as I stated above).
Overal though, there’s nothing wrong with its performance.
Sorry to whine guys...
Oh and I just rechecked the velocity and BC using the Heavies (Mk I): it’s shooting at 886 fps and the BC (@1 yd to 50 yd) was .0518. Average velocity at 50 yards was 764.4 fps and 886.0 at 1 yard.

Sean, Rowan reached out to me about this issue, if you like please send me the unit, Im sure i can get you a working trigger,

Thanks for the offer Ken, I think I will take you up on that. At a minimum, I'll send the unit to you and have you compare it to the other units you have in your possession to see if there are geometric differences, like I suspect. I'll send you a text to get your address and then send the unit out to you in the next day or so. I would like to get it working so I can have the adjustments I've been whining about (LOL). Text landing soon...

"Salticon"i can't keep them in stock! lol, The Rowan Trigger is nice because you can move the shoe fowards and aft, for those smaller handed shooters, also the shoe rotates outward for better finger contour. Ive found that the stock needs to be slightly shaved on the back part of the trigger drop hole for clearance on all non BR stocks. Very noninvasive and not visible when done. I used a rat tail file or a rotary tool. Tomorrow i'll be installing one in a .357 i'll post pics.
I would definitely like to see a pic of that.

Well i installed the Rowan trigger in Jim’s .357 with a sporter stock and it didnt need any modifications to stock. Learning all the time when your doing something new with these RAWs.

"crgabel"How are the .30 cal guys making out? Are they grouping well?
Craig
I need to put my .30 barrel back on and shoot it again. I was consistently getting groups in the .300’s the last time I shot, so I was very pleased with the performance of the .30 (and how hard it smacked the target too!).

Untill the snow melts, I will only be able to shoot out to about 70 yards-but I need to add a target at that distance. I’ll have to put that on my weekend list and setup the .30 cal. Stay tuned.

Once the snow melts, I should be good for 100+ yards.

I like that and it’s definitely something to think about. Hard to tell but is there any side to side on that trigger or is it just up/down forward/back adjustments?

With the current shoe shown on the blade, the unit can only rotate about the shaft it’s connected to. The shaft itself only slides fore-aft, and does not rotate. So the trigger blade can move fore-aft, and the shoe can rotate about its post-but cannot adjust laterally.

hope that description is clean? I’m send my unit to Ken today for him to compare it to other units he has.

"Hynzie"SEAN any chance u tried the H@N 30s im bummed mine never showed up
Yep, I was just posting about it in the thread on the pellets forum. Here’s a duplicate post, with details. One more note: the way these big .30 cal pellets seem to tear through the paper makes it difficult to measure some of the shots, due to difficulty determining where the center of the pellet is.

I had a chance to shoot them today (50 & 70 yards), from my RAW .30 cal. Short story: they’re not too bad, but the JSB 44.75 grains do seem to shoot a bit tighter. At 50 yards, my best 5 shot group was 0.56”, and my best 5 shot group at 70 yards was 0.71”. By comparison, my best JSB groups were about 0.45” at 50 yards, and 0.65” at 70 yards. The difference comes in that the average group size of the H&N pellets is 1.263” (ctc) (largest of 1.81”) at 70 yards, vs .852” ctc (largest of 1.19”). Note: the largest groups for both pellets were shot when I was getting very tired, and very cold-I blame those on me, so don’t draw too many grand conclusions off those numbers for either pellet, or the gun. After sitting out in the cold for 1.5 hours, you will understand...

I don’t know the velocity I was shooting either pellet at, but I think i am around 865 fps for the JSB.

I don’t have BC information yet either, but will gather that in the next few days.

I hope this info is helpful to you guys?
