RAW REPORT

Then she shot 5 shot groups in the wind, trying to squeeze them off when the wind would tame down. This is what she shot (again, from the bipod!).

Neglecting her extra (6th) shot):

Still trying to get every ounce of hush out it.

Ken,
STOP IT YOUR DRIVING ME CRAZY. Really this is cruel and unusual punishment of fellow earthlings. But it does look nice. :)

My buddy is obsessing over which barrel to get with his .25 cal (LW Rifled, or Polygon) so i decides to quick throw my Rifled barrel on and shoot a few groups at 50 yards. Since I was running out of daylight, I didn’t have time to setup my bench but rather just threw the bipod on and ran out to sight the gun in, and then proceeded to shoot 2 very quick 5 shot groups-but so could barely see the target by the end. Here quick summary: first group came in at 0.480” and the second came in at 0.420” ctc. Not bad at all-and so definitely think I can shoot tighter from a bench rest and enough light to see the target in! I’m going to leave the barrel on for now and shoot with it a bit to see how it performs.

Note: the shot to the lower right of the second target is my second sighter shot and not a flyer from the group.

I have always thought that the Poly Barrel was more or less for shooting longer ranges like 75 yards and farther and the LW was for closer ranges, when I order my .25 I’m going with the poly barrel because I like shooting longer distances, at least that’s what I’ve been lead to believe but I could be wrong and have it mixed up being its been awhile since I have looked into it.

"Glem.Chally"Nice shooting Sean and family, I do all my shooting off a bipod, target included. You find it makes a big difference to rest on a bag or something else? Also what is that cool program that measures your groups in the pictures?
Thanks, GC. Yes, I definitely have a more stable sight picture when shooting from the Bald Eagle rest and shooting table. I can see my heart rate when laying prone, shooting off my bipod. It is definitely easier to shoot tighter off the BE rest vs. the bipod...

The app is an iphone app called SubMOA, and can be found in the App store. It's a little clunky to get used to initially, but once you know how to add a measurement, and go through the process, it doesn't take too long to measure groups.

"crgabel"Sean,
Just saw the groups that your daughter shot. That girl can shoot man.
Yeah, I know-heh! I'll pass along the compliment to her (although her head is big enough as it is, LOL-at '18' they know everything already!). She and her 12 year old sister are excellent shots for sure! I don't know whether to be proud of her, or irritated / jealous at how well she can shoot! Grrr....

I think you have it spot on Jim. I just intend to prove it to myself via actual shooting data from my setup. I plan to leave the power the same, the pellets the same, and try to shoot over varying conditions with both barrels. I've shot enough with the polygon barrel to know it shoots very well. I shot enough with the LW rifled barrel in the 50 fpe version to know it shoots well out to 50 yards. It will be interesting to see how they compare out at 75 and 100 yards. From what Martin says, the Polygon should shine at those distances while the LW will open up a bit...

Good I thought I might of been losing it hahaha and I can’t wait to see your results at 100 yards and also let your daughter know she’s doing good, I got to the point where I stopped taking my daughter with me because she made me look bad hahaha she liked Archery better but girls in general are good shots I think it’s because they really pay attention to the small details,.
