RAW REPORT

Finally I got to shoot today, went thru a full tin of JSB 30 cal ammo which was fun but boring at the same time being all I shot was the same wasted target and now they are talking another snow squall coming through either Saturday and Sunday or Sunday to Monday with up to a foot of snow so as long as I’m feeling good I’m going to shoot as much as possible in the next few days, I’ll need to get a old metal bucket or something that makes noise when it’s hit and won’t be a issue on the lake, last 2 weeks we’ve gotten over a foot of snow and now this upcoming storm is leaving more white stuff behind, summer can’t get here soon enough for me.

Great to hear Jim! How did shooting go, overall?

The snow missed us today, so I was able to shoot again after work.

So I had a chance to start shooting some groups with the 'plain' LW barrel tonight at 75 yards. I can confirm that the barrel simply isn't as accurate as the LW Polygon barrel. There were times when I would be shooting a few shots, thinking 'that's going to be a pretty decent group' and then, all of a sudden, one of the pellets would fly off left, right, high, low. At first I thought it was the wind, but it did the same thing once the wind was completely calm. I thought it may be my eye position, but I very consciously tried to keep things very consistent (granted, sometimes I would slip up and look at the target, rather than my reticle-so some of them were my fault, no doubt).

Stay tuned and I'll edit this post with a couple photos. I'm going to sit and relax with my wife a little bit now though.

Oh, and BTW: we have a new member of the RAW family! I was able to find someone interested in selling the exact setup he wanted (.25 cal, polygon barrel, grey charcoal laminate LRT stock, with a single shot adapter, Picitinney rail, and carbon bottle)-all just 2.5 months old! He received it in December, 2017. They struck a deal, he paid and is now waiting for the gun to arrive! I'm so happy for him: AZ just told him a day or two ago that Martin just said his gun order would be another 20 weeks from this week (after waiting for 8 weeks)! He was really upset about it-so it turned out to be a real blessing!

Here are the results at 75 yards, “non-polygon” LW barrel. First several groups are with the Mk I pellets, the last group is with the Mk II pellets.

Mk I pellets.

Looks like it opened up a bit at 75yards with the LW, can’t wait to see the poly results now, Thanks Sean.

No I haven’t been able to try the paint balls yet because we got all that snow so they will just sink into the snow, was waiting for the snow to get wind blown so there would be a hard crust for them to stay on top but that hasn’t happened so now I have another idea to hold the paintballs on golf tees, just need to make it.

It feels good to shoot again but with just the one target it gets old and with my health I’m not going to be walking in slush and knee high snow out on the lake to change targets all the time, come on spring.

Guys,

I just wanted to say: I just got my Rowan trigger blade back from Ken (Salticon) and couldn't be happier! The adjustments he made allowed the trigger blade to be a drop in with all the right trigger settings dialed in-it works perfectly now! Ken not only made the tweaks, but he texted me while I was doing the install to walk me through opening up the channel for clearance to the new trigger blade so I could get it installed properly. It works awesom now! Here's a public shout out to Ken: http://www.airgunnation.com/topic/shout-out-spaw-tremendous-service/

Here's a few pictures of the process:

Thanks again Ken! I can't wait to shoot it tomorrow to see how it is in 'real action'! The length of pull change is already noticeable, and much improved!

"Hynzie"awesome +awesome ,so that looks the nads,,and it serves a purpose and fixxes a problem im having ,,the lop on my 30 was a little tight i thought putting a skinny butt pad would fix it then i was pointed to the fact it wasnt there the problem was the grip was to big leaving my trigger finger in a ackward spot the trigger hold was on th e top part of my trigger finger seeing SEANS work and the trigger having been brought back some sets up perfect for me yahoo im going to ask martin to recess the hole on my new build so i can put a trigger on there 2 ,,,how much did you remove SEAN quarter inch more?
Pat,

I ended up using the Dremel tool to take off about 1/8” - 1/4” rearward. The reach to the trigger decreased (moved rearward) by 1/4”-which actually is quite a bit. It really makes a big difference-my 12 year old commented on it right away too.

Ken sells the Rowan units now directly. Give him a try: www.spaweapons.com.

"Sell682"Sean, Is the removal of wood material from the stock only on the interior or also exterior? If you do not move the trigger all the way back is it still required? Let us know how you like it I wanted one but Ken sold out and I’m waiting for his next order.
The material removed is mostly on the inside of the stock, although I did have to break through into the trigger area and pull the back edge rearward some too. For that part, I had to use a rat tail file as my Dremel bits weren’t long enough. I would suggest getting a long Dremel bit (probably one of the smaller diameter sanding wheels).

my 18 year old wants to shoot this morning, so I will be shooting it a bit with her.
