RAW REPORT

"rivers"I'm curious when the first of the RAW's from Airforce will be out. Anyone set up to do an in-depth review - with a comparison to a RAW prior to the business changes?
Other changes like price, specs, etc.?
I’m getting ready to order one shortly it’s a killer that I won’t have it until the fall. I will probably be taking advantage of that special that Ken Hicks is offering that way I won’t have to worry about some new hire in Texas making a mistake since Ken will be giving it a tune.

Brian,
I too ordered from Ken. Don't read into this that I feel Martin makes an inferior product. Far from it! The .25 that I received directly from RAW In October of 2017 was everything that I had ask for and it shoots better than I had ever expected. I'm at a point in my life where I can afford the extra attention and options that Ken offers and delivers. It's sort of like going out for ice cream and getting extra sprinkles on the cone. Ken is also delivering a unit that has a trigger that is not available from the factory.

Again I'm not upset at this as I do understand that Martin has a product and he must keep the product design stable so he can better produce a gun in a reasonable amount of time. I know some will say they take too long now but imagine if every gun was a one off the time would most likely be another 10 weeks.

My RAW which I will be ordering shortly from Ken rarther than direct from Air Force is because even though I’m being told that Martin still builds them mine probably won’t be built until September at the earliest. Will Martin be building them then I have no idea. Ken has a record of taking RAW rifles and tuning them to be the best they can be. If my rifle is finally assembled in Texas by AirForce and I’m sure even if Martin is gone they will probably have a well trained person putting them together I feel better knowing that Ken will be the final arbiter in that process. Air Force should be delighted that they have a reseller with Kens ability and background and he is the main reason that I’m going to get a new RAW rifle.

I had a certain Forest Green Thumbhole .22 on the bench today, got this in before a storm hit, so the wind was starting to be a pain. I got this group on video at 50 meters with 5/6 shots. Will finish her up tomorrow weather permitting.

thanks Saun ,,do you happen to know what the standard stock has for a LOP,,,if no when i get back ill measure ,,craig looks like you got a shooter there in 22 ,ive heard the 22 s can be finicky judging by that groups youll have no issues congratulations looks like there coming in at the perfect time for you ,,being the hours you been working congrats man you earned it ,,HYNZIE

Pat,

I believe the ‘standard’ LOP is 14.25”, measured from the butt (closest point) to the front of the factory trigger blade.

Note: when installing the Rowan trigger blade, and adjusting the blade fully rearward, the LOP dropped to 12.75”. I love it like that, personally, and my kids can shoot it very well also.

Ordering the shorter stock is one of the things that has me a lifetime member of the RAW owners family...
