RAW REPORT

On a different note I ordered a stock last week or the week before

they are all starting to blur together since I am traveling for work.

I ordered a BM500X stock for my HM1000x's.

It will be finished in buckskin.

I have yet to see a BM in buckskin so it will be different from the crowd.

Plus I like the redwood look, (not a big extrovert)

Nice thing is with both my RAW's being HM1000X I will be able to rotate 3

different stocks on 2 guns.

So with a sporter,an LRT,and now a BM coming it gives me 6 guns for the price of

2.

Wow, that is great-and funny too (great minds DO think alike!). My BM500X laminate stock (not buckskin) should be done any day now-with an adjustable cheek piece, and accessory rail also (plus shortened).

Two stocks, 3 barrels, 2 calibers = lota of options!

Mubhuar posted earlier about the barrels for RAW AIR RIFLE now require a $50 charge if you want the barrel tested before it ships , im not sure what that means im not sure i mind the extra $ being charged,, but i would like to know what this really means ,,in the AEAC video at RAW,, it showed martin going through several tests and visually inspecting the barrels .. sliding several pellets through the barrel to look for abnormally also shooting at 75 yards to ensure acurassy,, apparently without paying the extra dough theese tests will not happen ,for me buying into the RAW thing ...was all about purchasing a top product and the ability to talk to the man who made my rifles perfect before they shipped ,, now i know he would get nothing done taking every ones phone call,, and the $50 charge is not bothering me ,,its that i bought my 3 RIFLES i was told anytime i needed a ? answered just call and we will talk with you,,i wish them sandra and martin the best ,,,well times are changing in the way things are being done .and i fear there will be more big ones to come ,,PAT

Dear Hynzie,

Here is the link of my post you refer to

https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/some-strange-developments-in-raw-products-post-takeover-by-airforce/

I think that due to busy work hours of Martin, his replies through e mail are often crisp and to the point without going into details.

In fact I bought two HM1000X .25 60 ftlb from Martin which he produced before his handshake with Airforce and both are great shooters.

Now I want one of the two guns to convert into .22.

Our communication was limited to e mails.

I think I misunderstood what he wrote and took it as now RAW has started charging additional 50$ for testing each gun.

Later Martin Clarified in the post that these charges are only for additional barrel. All RAW guns are still tested for accuracy before dispatch as they used to be before Airfore came in.

I also tendered my apology on my misunderstanding not only on my post but also through a personal e mail to Martin.

I love RAW and wish it to prosper further.

Only time will tell what goods and bads come to the customers from now to onwards coming years in result of the takeover.

I just thought my responsibility to clarify my position.

So guys, I just found out late today that I will be in Phoenix next week for work-any RAW members live out there and want to meet up in the evening, LOL. I went to bike week in FL earlier this year and met Ken, then later went to PA (twice) and met Craig...

Sean

Hey Sean,

That's a shame since I live in Phoenix but will be working in New Mexico all next week and maybe the week after.

I would love to have met up. How long will you be here? I am assuming it is a quick visit.

There are a whole bunch of RAW shooters here in Phoenix including some excellent shooters like Mark Buchanan, SRGT004, Rey is down in Marana which is about 90 minutes away.

I don't know of all the names the shooters go by on here but in May and June for the 25 meter bench matches 8 of the shooters were RAW shooters.

That is how I got hooked and decided to go with the RAW was what I saw at the matches.

Terry,

I'm flying out early tomorrow morning (should arrive in Phoenix at 6:50 AM) and will be heading home on Thursday morning. I forgot that Mark is out there-it would be nice to meet him, but I haven't interacted with him much on here, so it would be a 'little out of the blue'. I'll have to start training for BR competition once I get my BR stock and think about coming out to AZ to compete some time.

My near term goal, however, is to get my 14 year old son (and later my 12 year old daughter) setup with his new FX Wildcat Mk II and hopefully do the prairie dog hunt with Jim Chapman next year-that's kind of a fantasy / goal I would like to do as father and son while he's still young enough to enjoy it. The year after I'll have to do the same with my daughter too. They LOVE blasting chipmunks at my house currently, so that trip would just be awesome! If anything changes with your schedule, let me know (I'll PM you my phone number just in case...).

Hey Sean,

Yeah it is not good on my end I am stuck in the Land of Enchantment for the week.

Would have loved to sit down to dinner and shot the you know what, hopefully we get a chance in the future.

I'll keep your info for the future since I got your pm.

If y'all remember back a couple weeks ago, I mentioned that my TM1000 with the standard ported shroud was loud. I talked it over with Ken at SPAW who said he could provide a solution that'd make use of the existing shroud. True to his word, he just shipped me one of these today. Thanks Ken!!

The lit should arrive here next week. I'll report back as soon as I've had a chance to try it out.

Hey Ken,

Thanks for chiming in here since I won't be able to answer these questions 'til I have the moderator in hand, which should happen Monday according to USPS. I'll still report back as soon as I get it. Given what you've said, I'm sure it will more than meet my needs, but I'm still very excited about it. You said it'd "look cool", and man, you do keep your promises. Thanks soooo much!

BTW, I've been talking with Martin O'Connor from Diablo Rod & Gun Club about maybe hosting some benchrest matches at the USI range in Concord, CA. We're trying to get an idea of how much interest there might be for BR shooting. So if you'd like to see BR as well as the existing FT and Steel Silhouette venues out there, let us know. Thanks.
