Thought I would add this: these are pics of pellets seated in my BM-500 LW “polly” barrel by pellet probe only!, then pushed back out with a cleaning Rod... 1-RD 13.4 2-original 13.4 JSB’s 2nd single pic is of a fired RD 13.4 JSB NOTE: pics are the best I could manage w/phone camera, these detail how you can see shallow land marks both from just seating pellets and firing pellets completely through barrel “ just though it was of interest? Also note seated only pics were from several months back just found them knew they were floating around my reloading bench!

Joe

i wanted to show you what cropping your images can do

i pushed a monster thru a poly barrel

the first image is a unused pellet out of the tin showing how much damage is already on it

the next image is thru the poly barrel showing the rifling

and something i had not paid any attention to before this

look at the dregs hanging off the tail, it's not flat any more

Can't say I did, and didn't, see this one coming:

https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/RAW_HM1000x_LRT_Air_Rifle_Blue_Laminate/4794

Several color options, I just linked to one of them. Also: they have magazines listed at $71.95 on PA's website.

I'll refrain from further comment. I guess I was shocked to see this in my email today and am still processing things at the moment (along with a horribly stressful week...).

Time will heal all ... or act like a catalyst having the early / original Martin Rutherford & Co manufactured RAW guns more desirable than the contemporary versions done by Airforce.

From the outside looking in .... think it is outstanding for RAW over these past years being Shadowed by the Failure of Theoben in the UK after so many successful years to again have found an audience of shooters willing to pay the price and secure the RAPID AIR WEAPON brands future now and for years to come !

I wish AIRFORCE all the best too .... Update the valving & set ups following along with those tuners who know these guns best ... Don't cheapen them up and start cutting corners for cost & you will survive for many more years.

Not a surprise at all...once the merger was made last year it was all to be able to amp up production. We will see if the quality stays the same,,,only time will tell. I definitely feel the mass produced guns will not get the attention that the guns did going through Martins hands before the merger. I do not know how this operation is set up now so its hard to say. What i do know is the 2 RAW rifles that i own were both made before the merger and i definitely feel the quality is there and both shoot fantastic.

I'm wondering how much you you shot it before you decided the FX 500 shot better.

Also, if scope is perfectly level, optically centered perfectly, and aligned perfectly with adjustable rings. All of that 1/3rd degree off makes a difference in tolerance stacking at various distances.

Also, I'm wondering about pellets used. We're told to clean a barrel when we first get it, break it in, etc. Most guys don't clean & season their barrels for a different pellet.

There's a lot of things that could have had it below your expectations. Not impossible, or hard to say one thing without talking to Alan.

I personally miss my English AZ Rapids in .22 & .25.

If buyer who bought the .22 for Wife ever wishes to sell it back, I'd pay what I charged you.

If buyer of my .25 that was sold on by a G.F. out of Pennsylvania ever wishes to sell it back to original owner, I'd discuss that option.

PM me if either ever read this. Actually, if ANYONE has any Rapids Made in England they will sell, any caliber, please PM me.

Wanted to jump in here quickly to clear the air about the Pyramid Air listing. It seems there was some confusion created by the wording of the listing as to where RAW guns are being produced.

Their listing makes reference to AirForce being Texas-based, however, all RAW rifles are still and will continue to be for the foreseeable future produced in Tennessee. Martin is still on board and is still assembling and testing each rifle before it leaves the Minor Hill facility.

I have contacted Pyramid to update that on the listing.

What you see now on the Pyramid site as well as those of our other dealers is what we call a "standard package" rifle. Its based on the most common and popular features that customers call us and ask for on their guns. The hope is to be able to service 90% of those wanting a RAW with an "off the shelf" product while still offering the same bespoke air rifles we are known for to those wanting something a little different or more tuned to their interests. All benchrest and field target rifles are still made to order and will not be showing up on dealer sites for the time being. If you would like to order one, give us a call and we can get you in the queue.
Martin is focused on building guns and does not answer the phones anymore, and we are giving Sandra a much-needed break but Rachel and Leah are available to take your calls.

We are 100% committed to keeping RAW's standard of quality the same.
