RAW REPORT

Okay guys it is finally done.

Man I thought I was never going to say that.

After working out of town and working on this on the weeks in between and putting on an extimated 50-60+ coats of Formby's Tongue Oil, I have finally reassembled.

Nomojo suggested I went with the gloss, and if for no other reason it is very difficult to do I went ahead and fulfilled his request.

Right off the bat I will say it was an extremely painfull process this time as not only was the laminate very very thirsty the white clearly was not as impregnated as the

colored laminates. It was very soft and took five times as many coats to get a smooth finish out of than the colored layers.

Once I got to even coats going on, I would wet sand in between every couple of coats to level the finish.

There are still some areas that the grain still comes thru but short of a couple hundred coats that is not going away.

First shot look in the reflection, that is my 70lb pup looking on wondering what dad is up to.

I have said too much already, so I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Very nice Terry! Any photos showing the whole stock, now that its complete?

Sean

Hey Sean,

Yeah, I posted a bunch on page 274. These pictures just show how smooth the finish is better than those as reflections show better when it is slightly dark out.

I may do some more pictures at some point as I still have not captured it the way I like.

FWIW, Martin's new company, Airguns - USA, specializes in servicing and customizing the products that he originally built. He can make any kind of enhancement you want, including custom barrels. They will also work on all kinds of pcps and make mods for them.

Nice, any idea on what the best method is to get in touch? I placed an order for a new .25 LRT from AirForce's site. The stock barrel should be fine for a while, but I'm also interested in a couple of other barrel configs for it.

Excellent! Thank you 😊

Another picture to try and show the gloss which really does not shoot very well.

Were you doing this gloss coat just for the bling factor or because you were concerned with the protection factory finish? I'm hoping the latter isn't the case, I ordered an HMx to get a break from having to work my airguns!!
