I like 4lb braided trout line. You'll never break it. It's light enough that alone it windicates from 0-2mph. With a tag or feather or dodad of your choice it's great.

I use cassette and eight track magnetic tape from an antenna. One album is a lifetime supply and it doesn't wind-up and un-wind when its really windy like the doo-dads on a string can.
