Really, really poor customer service from SEKHMET gauges (I suggest you avoid buying from them)

Ok I jinxed myself, one has been acting funny for a while I thought was my reg. But its reading 0 bar on a full plenum. But I'll let it die fully and go from there, might just need a reset. Never updated firmware on any of mine either.

As for the review I wouldn't bother will never make the website I bet. One sentence and 1 star is all the time I'd spend on that.
Hope it works out for you...updating the FW in a real pain in the ass. I could never get it to work; luckily Jack.K is local to me and he was able to do it...the man is an airgun genius.

Ironically enough, look what showed up in my inbox yesterday...an automated email asking me to rate them - but do they really even care? It's too early in the morning for me to write them a scathing review so I'll chew on it for a bit while watching the US/Netherlands game...

I'm sorry but I'm LMAO here when you posted this. It's like a big FU for even asking for a rating. It's really ironic.

Yeah, isn't that awesome of them? I gave them a 1 star "terrible" rating earlier today. I doubt they'll even see it . . . or if they do, I don't think they gave a chit.

I may have jinxed myself as well....I wanted to reduce the regulator pressure, so I removed the tank from my M3, fired a couple of times to assure all air had vacated, yet the digital gauge still showed 113 bar (HUH?). So, reinstalled the tank thinking that it would read correctly once it recognized the 'new' lower pressure. It did NOT. I then removed the tank again, vacated air, then rechecked the gauge and great, it read 0. Reinstalled the tank and the gauge still read 0 after adjusting the regulator up....took the tank off again vacated air and removed digital gauge and replaced with analog. It works fine.
Maybe the digital needs recharging? I would think that it would show nothing if that were the case?

So just a quick update for anyone who cares...it's been exactly ONE MONTH since I returned the three leaky 25mm gauges back to Sekhmet (confirmed by the UPS delivery notification) and I haven't heard a single peep from Fred or anyone at the company. No exchange was honored and not even a single email to acknowledge the situation. All the while, they continue to send me automated emails asking me to rate my recent purchases!

Looks like they're just going to ignore the whole thing and force me to wait out the credit card dispute process. That's some incredibly stellar customer service!

I received poor customer service as well when trying to learn how to update. I did finally figure it out but it wasn’t because of any help from him.

I will include my cheat sheet here in case anyone might want it.

They just ordered the nicer version. I’m with you on $170 bones with bad services is WTF.

Stupid part for me is to check pressure I need a free hand to press the button and again after the short time out. It’s more annoying than anything else, to use the features I need to RTFM and press the stupid button more, I’m busy messing my gun so felt stupid paying for utter annoyance. Now I don’t even bother look at reg pressure so it’s an expensive plug! Doh! I need to get off my lazy ass and put my factory gauge back on.

I received one that was DOA. At least you got a response, as my multiple attempts have to this day never been responded to from them. I would not even take free product from them to put on my gear, so as to not even have someone think it was worth buying if they spotted it on there.
This was my experience. Dealer swapped me out after Sekhmet service failed. Second gauge was as bad as the first.
No need to try a third time

Interesting I had 2 of them and one died in 1 week the other was acting up showing 0 when it had pressure I emailed like 4 times , I ust the firmware update on both and guess what the doa is in trash and the one that was funky died a week later , junk , now all in trash
Sorry to hear this; several others have contacted me with similar problems as well. Isn't great that they literally give zero sh!ts about any issues you might have with their products? They honestly do not care, like not even a single iota.

It's been 1.5 months (i.e about 45 days) since I returned their defective gauges to them and I haven't heard a peep from them during this entire time. I'm just waiting for the credit card dispute process to play out; it's supposed to take another couple of weeks before final resolution. Really incredible how consistently bad their service is.

Hello AGN:

[VERY long rant below, the tl,dr: don't buy from Sekhmet Online because they do not stand behind their products and have horrific customer service...]

I've never posted this type of feedback for any airgun manufacturer before and I did NOT want to post this at all but the experience I've had with Sekhmet Online has been so bad that I wanted to make the community aware of it so that it might save others from the same headaches.

Let me start by saying that I've used the Sekhmet 28mm gauges for several years now, really like them and think that they are the best digital gauges you can buy to this point (there are other options available now that are viable alternatives). Last month, I saw that they'd released a new, simpler and smaller 25mm model that is better to use at the regulator location and/or where you want a smaller gauge like with the FX angled bracket on the Impact M3. On October 19th, I ordered 3 of them from the company website and installed one on each of my two perfectly functioning M3's at the 2nd regulator location. Keep in mind that I previously had the older Sekhmet 28mm gauges at these 2nd regulator positions and they worked perfectly...and more importantly, didn't have any leaks.

Upon installing the 2 new 25mm Sekhmet gauges, what followed was two weeks of a lot of wasted time and frustration trying to get them installed without leaking. Nothing else was changed in my setup but no matter what I tried (whether installing them with the normal FX factory rubber x-rings or the white Delrin washers provided by Sekhmet (I even replaced the x-rings and Delrin washers at least once)), both gauges leaked at varying speeds depending on how they were installed. I tried screwing them on from just hand tight to very tight using a wrench and every installation leaked. Sometimes they leaked very fast when not tightened enough and other times they leaked slowly overnight; the best I could get was about a 25-30bar loss overnight, which is unacceptable.

Before anyone guesses that this is due to user error, I've been tinkering with airguns for almost two decades and had very carefully and systematically tried everything I could to troubleshoot the problem. At the end of the day, installing an air gauge is not rocket science and should not be this frustrating. Aside from the time lost, I wasted almost a full 60 minute tank of air trying to get these gauges to stop leaking. After two weeks of this madness, I gave up and put the Sekhmet 28mm gauges back . . . and the leaks were gone on both rifles on the very first try - which confirms that the issue was with the new 25mm gauges. For whatever reason, they just don't work with either of my M3's without leaking.

On November 2nd, I contacted Fred Lee at Sekhmet via email both directly and through the support email listed on their website for help throughout this process and he did reply the same day but all he could do was refer me to the basic owner's manual that was included in the box - which I already read and provided no help. Sekhmet has a 30 day return policy and a 180 day exchange policy. I didn't want my money back, I just wanted working gauges so I asked to exchange the 3x 25mm gauges for 2x 28mm gauges (which worked out to be almost the exact same value). Several days later, Fred tries to tell me that I didn't buy the gauges from their company and that I should try to work it out with the seller (umm, you ARE the seller)!

Once I made my exchange request, Fred/Sekhmet basically lost any interest in trying to help me. On November 9th (a week after my request and after several follow-up emails from me), Fred asked me to make a video showing the problem so that they could consider a RMA. So he essentially wanted me to go through all of the headache again, mess with my now airtight rifles and re-install the faulty gauges just so I could make a video of a slow air leak? What did he want me to do, set up a timelapse video showing it losing air over night or submerge half of my rifle under water to show the air bubbles coming out? I replied back to him telling him that I'd already spent 2 weeks dealing with this ridiculousness and wasn't going to do it again for a video trying to show an air leak!

With no response to that email, I followed up a couple more times again asking for the exchange and at 11:35pm on November 13th, Fred again insists on getting a video of the leaks before he would consider an exchange. As I was typing my frustrated response to him on the morning of November 14th, he sends me another email telling me to send the 3x 25mm gauges back to an address in La Puente, CA and they will send out 2x 28mm replacement gauges. I sent out the three gauges (2x opened boxes and 1x new, sealed & unused) within an hour of getting that email, documented the contents and provided the tracking #. The gauges were delivered back to Sekhmet two days later on November 16th and I followed up with them on November 18th and 21st asking for an update. On my last email, I stated that I would give them until end of day November 22nd to at least provide a tracking number before I called my credit card company to dispute the charge.

I have not heard from Fred/Sekhmet since that last November 14th email instructing me to send back the 25mm gauges. As of this morning, I've formally disputed the charge and am awaiting resolution. At this point, I don't care if I get the replacement (working) gauges or my money back - I'm just done dealing with this really horrendous customer service. This guy & his company have zero interest in taking care of the customer; it should not take over THREE weeks and numerous emails just trying to chase down a request to do an equal value exchange!

Sorry for the very, very long rant but I've never had such poor service from any company I've ever purchased from. Their (28mm) gauges are good but this purchase has so soured my experience with them that I will be actively looking to replace their gauges if/when I can find a suitable replacement. If you're considering buying any gauges from Sekhmet, be warned that they do NOT stand behind their products and should you have any issues with the gauges, you can expect some of the worst customer service you'll likely ever receive...

I had the exact response you did. My gauge would not turn on. He wanted me to charge with a new cable and a new charger. then wanted me to touch the contacts with a wire, which I did. Then, like you, I had to make a video. After all that he said he would send me a new one. After 30 days, I emailed Fred and he said he would get it to me. Trying to be patient I waited another month. I emailed him again and he replied and said it was shipped two weeks prior, BS. I asked for a tracking Number and no Reply. Another couple weeks go by and I asked again for a tracking number, and I still have not heard from him.

So today, almost two full months since I returned the defective gauges back to Sekhmet, my credit card company finalized the credit back to my card so in the end, I'm not out any money...but for a company to not even acknowledge the situation with even a simple email in almost two full months still boggles my mind. Who does business like this? Especially in a niche hobby like this where word of mouth (either good or bad) can spread pretty quickly. Oh well, whatevers...it's their business to kill.

None of this is encouraging. I got one of the 25mm gauges last week. Installed it, and began losing ~50 bar every 24 hours. But something I haven't heard in this thread... I actually did a leak test with leak detector. It is not leaking air from the threads. I've had a ~10 bar leak before, and you can see the bubbles. This big of a leak should have literally exploded.

So I tightened it a quarter turn anyway and let it go another day. Another 50 bar gone. In my experience you can let gauges out a full turn and not leak (so to align the display how you want). This thing is leaking from the internals. I swapped back in my old gauge and the leak stopped.

I just sent an email to Sekhmet with the details and requested an RMA exchange. After reading all this though, I'm not sure I want an exchange even if he responds. Fortunately I paid with PayPal. I'll give him until Monday to respond, and if not, I'm just disputing the purchase with PayPal.

Btw, I also have a 28mm gauge (a year or so old) that has given me no real problems. I just did a FW upgrade following the video from the Sekhmet website without issue.
