After years of air gunning you probably think you know what the terms mean.
Or do you? How about these definitions.

Eye relief. What you get when you finally buy a quality scope sight.
Rifle sleeve. A rifle is an arm, sleeves go on arms.
Gun slip. Worn under a female guns petticoat.
Hunter. A person who spends hours looking for his quarry, seconds taking a shot, and minutes cursing when he misses.
Muzzle velocity. The speed at which the end of the barrel is moving.
Acre. Describes part of the body after a day in a cramped hide.
Fieldcraft. A small boat for crossing flooded meadows.
Musket. A small mouse.
Musketoon. An amusing drawing of a mouse.
Prone. Your position 0.6 seconds after tripping over a root.
Peep sight. A quick glance through a key hole.
4 x 4. Should be called a 16.
Piston. What we get while in a leaking hide when it's raining.
Pellet. A small, usually lead object, designed to be dropped when urgently needed.
Dovetail. A natural growth at the rear of some species of birds.
Deer rifle. An expensive gun.
Gun oil. "Oil get round to lubricating one day."
Gunwriter. Someone who carves their initials in a beautiful walnut stock.
Tap loading gun. A water pistol.
Underlever gun. A misnomer as almost all break barrel guns have at least per of the leaver under the barrel.
