Rear rest modifications

I have this PQP rear rest for couple of months now and can't forgive myself why I didn't got it years ago for my BR games.

I would like to dual purpose it between my airguns and my f-class project gun.
Anywhere I could find some V-shaped leather ears inserts alone - to try mounting it instead of these plastic V ?

Not sure, but wouldn't simply laying, or glueing, a piece of leather across the plastic ears work just as well?
