Rebuilt the Altaros booster

I had ordered some parts, a new fill hose and 110/12V transformer from Altaros.

I had broken the bleed valve wheel on the the fill hose due to my 20/180 vision in my one remaining eye and then the transformer got caught as I moved the unit for repairs and I damaged it.

I have had rebuild kits for a couple years, I watched the video’s again and again but made one huge mistake, if I had photographed more steps to show how the blue gaskets presented themselves in each stage, and wiring plugs, I would have been better off, but my wife watched the video’s later and she could see how they all fit together. When we tore it down to check if I did it correctly everything seemed in place.

Really got scary when it still would not make pressure, it would run for a few seconds then shut off. The high pressure side was getting air, but it still would just shut off after just a seconds.

Checking the gauge on the high pressure side before it shut off, I realized I overtightened the new fill hose and a combination of micro bore hose and a incorrect fat o’ring which deformed, no air could get out. Once I figured that out, I topped off my tank with no further trouble.

Is it so easy a blind man can do it? Yeah, if your wife has better vision than the blind man.

Lost track of the hours, 2.5 years of use. Filling 2 24 times per month, 2 to three hours of use.

Seals seamed okay but relpaced the blue plastic seals and the large orings, in the main chamber. Checked the check valve, it was like new, so I left it in. I did not go beyond that.

A better Altaros hack may not have replaced most of these.

Sorry I don’t have better numbers.
