Recommend me a new gun

So you survived the run in?

Anyway, when you say “traditional” are you meaning traditional action forward style, or traditional action forward but with traditional rifle looks too. If the later, the DRS seems like a nice choice. For the former, I find the AGT Vixen intriguing as well as a Huben GK1 with a light folding stock. The Brocock Atomic XR seems super cool for a compact non bullpup as well.
I like the way you think. DRS and Vixen are at the top of my list now

FX DRS was actually at the top of my personal list before I made this post. .22/600 is the model I’d pick as well. Have you had a chance to weigh it? Very keen to know how truthful the spec weight is
Just checked my DRS and it weights 6 pounds 13 ounces with scope and rings.

The MTC Copperhead 4-16x44 is 20 oz, the rings about 6 oz for the pair so, doing the arithmetic, that leaves 5 pounds 2 ounces.

Find the DRS to be a perfect weight for carrying while hunting, heavy enough to be stable, light enough to be comfortable.

Groups and hunting out to 50 yards show that head-shots on squirrels is no problem. In .22, there's plenty of power so I'll be testing at longer ranges when the weather warms up (snowing at the moment).

Most of my PCPs are 2 pounds (plinkers) to 6 pounds (bench guns) heavier than the DRS. My Maximus less but it is too light for me and I find it more difficult to shoot. Really liking the DRS for general plinking, pesting, and hunting.

Cheers!

Lets look at this economy gem, I may have never bought a DRS if this came out first :)

We don't see to many suggesting the Airmax line, but it is very hard to beat. And like mentioned above the Daystate lineup also. I don't think a person can go wrong with either of these... I own the Krait and an Alpha Wolf and both have been solid for me. I had the Katran first but it was in .177 but very nice, light, solid and with the tube was hand pumpable!
altho that didn't last long LOL

Kidding of course. Because I know and own them. The HW100 , can be found for a decent price new and used, best magazine set up ever, good shot count , lots of aftermarket , very accurate in either caliber and bulletproof. I like the FSB models myself with the 410mm barrels.

lol. If I had unlimited funds, unlimited time and my own personal range then I’d own one for sure. In my world, I have to fit plinking sessions in during kid naps or outings with mom. My kit has to have little to no setup and maintenance so that I can spend my 4 free daylight hours per week enjoying it :)

there is a nice Weihrauch HW100 in the classifeds for only $750, a bargain,,, BUT it is .177 cal
if was a .22 it would be gone, I would have grabed it
these are really good guns,,, I do have HW 110 and Hw44 in 22 cal, they make me smile
I actually prefer the 100 in .177. Very flat shooting and love the 10.3 grain pellets. Shooting the Hades at 860 FPS is hole on hole at 50 meters.
