Tuning Recommendation for FWB 65 Rebuild/Service

I picked up the 65 yesterday and shot it today. It seems to be working fine, so hopefully should not need a trip for service. I'm going to ramble a bit about it. Got it from the original owner, it was made in 1986 (S/N in 134K range), has some light freckling on the cocking lever, otherwise in good shape, with blue base seal. Now remember why I sold my original 65 as it takes Godzilla to cock it, especially for participating in 60 round matches. At some point when competing with my original I fell off of a pair of skis and broke my shoulder. Ended up selling it and getting a Walther CP2 due to arm strength issues.

That said, I had forgotten how well balanced the gun is, and how nice the trigger functions. I'm 83 and the cocking is a bit of a chore, but the ratchetting lever helps a bunch. My current pistol is a Daisy 777 and is nowhere as point able as the FWB. There is also a significant difference in perceived weight as the daisy feels like holding a brick in comparison. My current impression is very positive. I'll chrony it tomorrow, unless the weather turns crappy, as forecasted.

Overall am very pleased.

If duel springed (Two smaller back to back mainsprings) i have had these do 500 fps. If single spring, they will do about 450 fps.

Springs can be accessed easy enough, but never, repeat never, strip down the trigger group on these. I am very mechanically minded, with loads of experience of rebuilding/ tuning guns, but it took me a week of shear frustration and fretting getting the Trigger group back together, wishing to goodness that i had never bothered.

I almost gave up at one point, but had the idea to employ some little slave jigs I made to assist and finally succeed. It nearly beat me.
