Recommendation of RAW rifles

Earlier this year I stumbled upon some of Ted's videos. My first rifle was an air gun (Benjamin) in 1964 or 65. Since that time I had shot powder burners. Like many on this forum I thought "It would be fun to shoot without all the noise in my driveway" ...so this review is a brief synopsis of my experience with ordering two RAW rifles (Actually 3 as my twin brother had to have one as well). My first air gun was a .25 Cricket...a great bull-pup that was pretty darn accurate. I was pleased with it, but it was still not a bench gun, and that was my bent. So I saw the targets that Mike Manabe was posting and that spurred me to go to another level. I emailed Mike and he was a pleasure to correspond with. He was open, giving, and encouraging.
I called Martin Rutterford at RAW and ordered a .22 and a .30 cal. Martin (and Sandra his wife) are very fine folks. I gave Martin the specs on the rifles and he said he thought he could have them made in 12 -14 weeks. So I waited. Martin was a pleasure to work with. He answered questions clearly, and it was apparent he really knows his business. 13 weeks later the rifles arrive. Can these things shoot?? YES. Finding the right speed and the right pellet and the right hold on each rifle took time. I initially had questions on the .30 and Martin, without hesitation said "I want to stand behind the rifle, send it back and let me look it over again". 7 days later I had it back and it was perfect. (The issue was that I was "overcleaning" ....dry patches do wonders and you don't want to put a bunch of bore cleaner down the barrel). Can I recommend a RAW...without question.
On the .30 cal I wanted a more traditional stock but the option to shoot off the bench. The Euro rail on the underside of the fore arm is a great option that Martin offers. As you can see I have attached a 3x3 piece of very hard wood and it turns the stock into more of a bench rest configuration.
The 75 yd target is the .30 cal shot at 52 yards...3 shot groups
The .22 target is shot at 26 yards.
And what did my brother get ?? a .357 HM1000x and it is every bit as good.

MOD EDIT: FIXED PICTURES TO DISPLAY PROPERLY

 Mike,
Excellent choice, seems you did do your homework/research. Seems like the only thing you missed was unlike many airgun makers ( and naturally mass produced airgun's just cant spare the time) Martin personally polishes etc. each and every barrel so no need to do such a thing to one he built, he very likely has more reject - but would have been used on an assembly line - barrels than anyone making airguns.

GD,
I still haven't gotten any picture that really show's the quality of Walnut on my HM1000 (and again, naturally each rifle is different) .22. I am lucky enough to shoot FT in TN so I've know Martin and Sandra for some time. At a match last year I told Martin I was saving for an RAW and when I was ready I would get together with him to figure things out.
While I really would have liked to order a Field Target model due to health I really can not anymore. I think it was at the last Invicta match last year I spoke with him for just a minute - literally - and told him I wanted, a .22 , regulated, quite, and lighter than the standard FT model, that's it. I didn't even realize the HM 1000 came with a 12 shot clip.
Ended up with a Thumbhole/thumbup Walnut with a full CF sleeve and long reflex mod.
REAL stippling :

not the pressed or roto tool sthuff.
The Walnut really does look better in person:

The day it came Home and for the first time Miss Tammy said "That's pretty, were keeping that":

Just a pic:

Pardon the scope & mount I have odd vision :

Sandra is a real shooter also:

Slightly different "Firemarshal's" TM :

Roz uses a BM500 set up the way he wanted it:

You really can have it you really can have it your way in options:

Chip, new to pre-charged rifles had his made to suit him:

I could go on but?

They are truly a value.

Just beautiful Mike! Didn't think they would ever come. This makes me really feel good about my choice to order one. I just received notice that my stock is being made now. Should be done by the end of next week. Boy it sure has been hard waiting! It would have been so much easier to just order a Royal 500 and be done with it but really wanted something special. Soon I will be posting about mine. Can't wait to see what you can do with that .22 after some quality time with her. Well both of them actually.
I'm very happy for you! Thanks for posting. :-D

Gun dog: that's good info. Thanks.Red and charcoal was not my first choice for the laminate stock, but it was the only 3" wide laminate available to Martin. Still happy with it.

John thanks for the pictures from Tennessee, those are all nice looking RAWs. My brother had the walnut thumb hole stock for his .35 cal with a carbon fibre tank. It's pretty light.

30calGundog that will be a sharp looking stock. Any word on when you expect yours?

No but I know when it won't be done LOL the middle of September. I asked because I am going out of town and wanted to take it with me they said I would not have it by then. I hope it is worth the wait. I ordered it back on July 23rd so my 10 week wait is not up until the first week of Oct. I am hoping it won't be much longer than that but I am willing to wait if it is. I almost bought an FX Royale 500 regulated but the fact RAW could make the stock just the way I wanted was the deciding factor. I am tall and I wanted the stock longer so they did that. They said my stock had been carved and looked great but it still needs to be sanded then oiled Sandra said she would send me a picture of my stock after it has been sanded.
