Recticle position on digital/NV optics

New scope for Christmas. When I sighted it in, after adjusting the reticule to zero I had expected the scope to adjust the image position so the reticule would go to center.
Am I missing a step? Seems weird to look into a scope and the crosshairs are pointing to the lower right of the field of vision!

The only way I can see to fix my issue would be to pair it with a short scope and delete the NV Scope reticule .

I'd have to find a picatinny extension for my rifle. I have a Beeman .22 cal 1358 model bullpup. With a Triton 3x18 NV optic.

Thoughts?

I have a ATN x-sight 5 and a DNT tnc335r. The ATN centers the reticle at base magnification after zeroing, while the DNT does not. The DNT does center the reticle when magnification is increased above the base magnification though. The only way to achieve a centered reticle at base magnification is to have a reasonably aligned muzzle and optic paired with an image sensor that has a larger field of view than its displayed image. In essence the ATNs base mag is actually already digitally zoomed, because it is only displaying a cropped portion of its image sensors data. The cropped portion is centered on the reticle, which is exactly how the dnt is able to center the reticle at magnifications higher than its base. If the rifle you have your digital optic mounted to has the ability to index the barrel, that might be your best bet at getting your zeroed reticle closer to center.

On my ATN, the reticle shift is used to adjust where POI actually is hitting being an overlay to the fixed & centered reticle .. upon hitting ok the overlay goes away and POI is now aligned to the fixed reticle position.
So The ATN optics are what I'm looking for. I saw a review on the lower priced units. 4star scope! OK thank you!

Some optics can do it and some can't. Even the ones that will move the picture and keep the reticle centered have their limitations. You can look into a EagleVision mounts which gives you manual adjustability - this is about the best to help keep your reticle centered.

I've never owned and ATN, but know those who have. They have had mixed reviews. I would check out DNT Optics - my NV from them moves the images. Also the newer Pard scope format does that.
