red dot + magnifier

does anyone run a red dot + magnifier for a rabbit hunting rig (or any hunting rig within 100 yards)?

...i may give it a shot. have a holosun 515 collecting dust i may throw on a rifle, with a 6x magnifier behind it with flip mount

Wouldn't it be really hard to hit your target with a red dot sight beyond 50yds?I almost bought the Holosun 515,I would be shooting it at about 25 yds. mounted on a pistol. .6x is a lot for a red dot.Some people use a lighted scope,I have one and think it is a better option.Try it and post your results.

results -> red dot + magnifier are sufficient for larger targets used for self defense training. 

doing my typical airgun shooting, the clarity and FOV just aren't there, especially for squirrel sized targets. i knew there would be a difference, but didn't anticipate it to be this much.

This is my diy red dot magnifier, I'm using an archery 8x magnifier lens resize to fit a red dot sight. the last 2 picture shows the difference as you look at the green masking tape as the target, I don't think it will work for a 100 yard, but work well at the closer range

I mounted a red dot on my pp700 pistol/carbine...love it. Wanted more magnification for 30 yards shots so ordered a doubler but have not received it yet. I also ordered a knock off Leupold d evo with lco red dot. Mounted both these on this carbine and it is...heavy but I love it. Time will tell if I keep it but I plan to as I enjoy the red dot and wanted more magnifacation and this setup does both.
Just another option. 
note these knock offs might not hold zero.so far so good here, time will tell. Expensive but solved my problem.
