RED DOT vs GREEN DOT

I believe a background is a factor how can you see a dot colour to make a contrast. A sand/dirt/rocks background may work best with green, a neutral gray (or green leafs, bushes, threes) background definitely a red.
Astigmatism..you better go with hologram scope but those are more influenced by parallax. Still a magnifier can compensate out some parallax but be prepared to stay inside the eye box. Also the combination of two doubling the total price.
I got myself a Romeo7 red dot and the Juliet6 magnifier and works great. Red dot 25 mm and magnifier 30mm lens.

...well, when the optic offers the option, I almost always go with red, which should answerer me own question, eh...
...I may not have understood why before but I am generally shooting against dark and leafy back grounds...the red just looked better...more familiar if nothing else...

Green may do goofy things to your “night vision”
at night a lower intensity will be helpful.

I use a >44 magnum revolver to hunt deer and have found that in bright sunlight or snow on the ground the red dot washes out and becomes hard to see so in those conditions I use green but when cloudy or in the timber red.

For whatever reason, I seem to see green crosshairs better than red. And yellow better than red. I think it is a matter of contrast more than color for me, with red being closer to the tones of the wood chips and fallen branches my squirrels are up against.
