The Holosuns are great as mentioned. If you want to dip your foot in the water with a quality dot that is a fair bit cheaper, I like the AT3 offerings

you would need some dovetail adapters if planning on installing on a dovetail mount

To piggyback on that,, for example, I have an Umarex S&W M&P 40 blowback, .177 call bb.
If I want to put a sight on it, would I be looking for an adapter or "plate" for an actual S&W mounting kit? Like for a real pistol? Would it be the same? I want to put a red dot or eight on each of my pistols, one at a time. Some I can get sights that are made specifically for them, like the Sig m17. Should I go with picatinny mounting plates,? If they make them

Each red dot has its own footprint. The most popular is RMR, which encompasses many dots including the Holosun 407c. Then there's RMS which is the 407k and Shield RMS. You'll need picatinny adapters for each of those. It's easier to just get a straight picatinny mount dot, but they tend to be a bit larger.
That pretty much answers it thank you 👍I'll do more research and see what I need

This one says it's for SW MP. Do you guys think it would fit my M&P 40 blowback??

As others are, I am also a Holosun user, I've got a few !
For their cost, it's pretty difficult to beat their sights, and what they can do for the shooter.

I am getting sold on Holosun, what kind of adapter do I need for these sights ? Is each pistol different ?

Lol pistols are as follows.
Sig m17
Sig p226
Sig p365
Sig scorpion 1911
HK USP 45
HK VP9
S&W M&P 40
Brodax (non blowback revolver)
CZ 75 P-07 bi-tone
Beretta APX
There's a few more I can't remember at the moment. I would like to get a red dot on as many as I can, they are all blowback as well 👍

You're really into replica airguns eh?

I doubt many of them are cut for optics. If they are, they will have a seam around the rear sight where it would come off to reveal a mountain area. I'm not at my computer right now, but I'll be able to give you a more thorough answer later.

Yes sir I love the replicas. I will look at them all again when I get home and see if they have the cut out. I know the m17 does for sure ,I'll definitely be grabbing that optic, made by SIG. It I can't put dots on the others it's not the end of the world lol, just would like to if possible . I appreciate the help thank you 👍

Sig m17 - Sig Air Reflex Kit
Sig p226 - Potentially dovetail
Sig p365 - Potentially dovetail
Sig scorpion 1911 - Potentially dovetail
HK USP 45 - Potentially dovetail
HK VP9 - Potentially dovetail
S&W M&P 40 - Potentially dovetail
Brodax (non blowback revolver) - Picatinny red dot
CZ 75 P-07 bi-tone - Potentially dovetail
Beretta APX - Potentially dovetail

The M17 will take the Sig Air Reflex Kit. The ones marked potentially dovetail means that you might be able to find a dovetail adapter if the sight dovetails are the same size as the actual firearm. The revolver will take any picatinny setup.

You are correct ,only the m17 is optic ready. I'd have to get notched out slides for the rest, too much money in the end, I've already got too much in the pistols themselves lol, I'm sort of addicted , but yea 👍I appreciate the help. I'll grab the Sig reflex kit for the m17 and call it a day 👍. If I want more I'll grab some flashlights/lasers for the picatinny that exists under the barrels already .

I'm new to red dots sooooooo take with I have to say very cautiously  I got a Hawke Vantage 3MOA and I'm liking it(y) I asked someone at the range that is very experienced with red dots to check it out to get his opinion on the dots quality since I have no clue what I'm looking at:LOL: anyways his said that the dot was clear and a nice dot for the money.

Hawke generally makes good value optics, so I'd tend to believe him.
