Daystate Red wolf any advantages 25 cal vs 22 pellets only

Not sure my line of thinking is correct but to me it would seem the 25 cal would have porting more conducive to pushing a 34 gr pellet ?? Wouldn’t you get more power and speed from a 25 ?
You can push the porting up some on 22 to get close to 25 full power not quite but it is easier from the 25 because of its width it's easier to push
I tried 34 gr h&n slugs just to see on the chrono and they are flying at 908 on power 11 nothing changed from the way it was set earlier so I lost a little bit of speed from pellets to slugs have not tried any accuracy testing yet possibly tomorrow after shooting some birds

Well I tried the h&n slugs out to a 100 I need a bigger bottle for more shots but at 900 fps that were not to bad 5 shots in to the size of a quarter or just a tad bigger not as good of a group as the 25 gr redesign pellets but a lot less hd over to get there. My long shot of the night tipped a pigeon over dead at 98 yards with 25 gr pellets so it is holding its own against my friends 25 caliber lol

I've never seen it published for the 34 grain. The 25.4 BC is ~.050-.052-ish.

@Centercut is a big fan of .25's. Perhaps he will chime in?
Strelok has 33.9g JSB Exact Jumbo Beasts at 0.050 BC and the 34g Beasts at 0.046

I can tell you what I use for BC, it mostly the two Red Wolves that I have...

For the .22 RW shooting RDMs at 965 to 970 fps, I use 0.052 or 0.053. This seems to work well at the altitudes that I normally shoot.
For the .25 RW shooting King Heavy (Mk1), I use 0.055. Not much difference.
I'm not sure for the .22 Beast 34 grain, and the only person I know that shot them did so well in excess of 1000 fps.

With the .22 RDMs, when you have a REALLY good batch, they are hard to beat. However, even with an awesome batch, you'll still get the occasional flyer. With the .25 King Heavy, I almost never get flyers, and if/when I do, it is minor. So, for me, the reliability of the King Heavy .25 outweighs the potential precision of the .22 RDM.
