Tuning Red Wolf Heliboard - impressive upgrade

I've been reading about the Heliboard upgrade for well over a year, but never had a Red Wolf to make it a concern. Fast forward to a month ago and AoA having some stellar used deals where I picked up a RW .177 Standard version. Absolutely nothing wrong with the stock 18 fpe high setting, but this rifle shoots the NSA 12.5 and 15.5 amazingly so I wanted the option for a little more power.

Reached out to Jack and his communication was amazing. Answers any questions with full details. Excellent documentation. Installation was very straightforward. This is a high quality custom product.

Performance - OMG - more than expected. I am getting 30fpe with NSA 15.5 slugs at Level 10. The H&N 10.64 are shooting at 1100 fps. I can still drop down to 7.5 fpe on Level 1. Definitely pushes this Red Wolf up to a heavy pellet shooter as well. Gonna play around with the 13gr and 16gr JSB this afternoon. I'm curious what I will be able to get out of the 16gr pellets.

Only having the heliboard in my hands for about 30 hours, I may have spent 10 of them tinkering with it and testing different projectiles and settings. I've found that P10, 11 and 12 are a bit too much for the shorter barrel .177 Standard and don't do anything more for fps of even the 16.2 gr Beast.

Unfortunately there isn't a stock setting for my H&N 10.65 gr to get right at 18fpe for FT. P2 gives 820 and P3 gives 920. Decided to give the entire a manual a read through and using the base mappings as a guide I adjusted all of the 20 mappings to get to 18fpe on P12. My first guesses were pretty darn close getting 18.2-18.5 fpe. I didn't want to redo all 20 maps as it is very time consuming to go through the menus, but actually very well thought out for a one-button interface. So this time I dropped the cap voltage from 69 down to 68 in .1 volt increments and found 68.3 volts for the caps spot on for a hair under 18fpe. Very cool.

I found a setting that pushes the NSA 12.5 right at 950fps - landed about 3-4 shots in the same hole at 46 yards until the wind kicked up - excellent!

B - I was actually looking to go Wolverine R, but when a .177 Standard Red Wolf shows up in pristine condition for $1600 you just gotta go up a level.

I was going to do it last fall, but my back went out a few days before the weekend. Also - I hadn't practiced any of the positions. I am getting myself setup a bit better this time. I'm slowly prepping the RW. Swapped the NX8 4-32 over to it and picked up a focus wheel, pointer and simple hamster from Rowan Eng.

I'll slowly start getting the focus and elevation labels setup over the next month while I practice the FT positions.

Today I spent some time learning how to program and tune using the heliboard. The P12 setting which I modified for the 10.65 FT I went through each mapping with a chrono and tweaked it so every level from 250 bar down to 150 bar where the pressure can no longer reach 18fpe. I was able to tune each of the mappings to 865-870 fps. It's time consuming - figure about 1-2 hours to get a P set complete. I also did it for P7 and was able to get a stable 950 +/- 2 fps for the NSA 12.5 from 250 bar down to 170 bar where it can no longer maintain the ~25fpe. The shot count for even the 25fpe setting is amazing. Easily over 100 shots available from a fill.
