Tuning RedWolf HP Trigger won’t activate

Was shooting off the bench and everything functioning splendidly on a beautiful Indiana afternoon, and without warning the trigger quit activating. I checked the battery and it is nearly fully charged and the screen lights up fine with no indication of any issues.

I unplugged it from the battery thinking it might reset to no avail.


What should my next action toward resolution be?

If your trigger was set for a very light pull, you might try very slightly increasing the release pressure. Or, this may be one of those electronic rifle issues that has no rational explanation. I have a RW, and I like it, but going forward, I think I'll limit my electronics to computers and smart phones. Just my opinion.

At AOA's suggestion, checked to see if I could get it into programming mode, and I could. But noticed that when I switched the safety on or closed the bolt to exit the programming mode, the audible "clunk" sound one normally gets is absent. Trigger still won't activate.

Sounds like a ransomeware attack, have you gotten the email requesting money yet to unlock your trigger???? Sorry couldn’t pass it up, hope you get it sorted out pretty much why I’ve avoided electronics on any guns.

I removed the stock and the side cover over the electronic circuit board. Couldn't see anything visually problematic, and as it should still be under warranty (it is nearly exactly two years old), I didn't go any further, but if you know the fix, I would consider attempting it.

Okay buddy, so the causes could be!

1) Safety lever pin not contacting the top microswitch

2) Trigger microswitch is broken (you need to remove the whole trigger)

3) Ball bearing under the pellet probe?

4) Safety ball bearing/spring issue?

Do you have an exploded diagram of the REDWOLF?

Can you take some pictures of the gun with the board etc. showing?

I have a Red Wolf, and it's an interesting piece of equipment, shoots well. But this thread reminds me of why I will never rely on an electronic rifle. I'll probably sell mine while it's in perfect working order.

These are pretty easy to identify and easy to fix if you are good with tools, no different to people installing a HELIBOARD and wrecking their warranty TBH.

I am sure AOA would have the parts if any were needed.

At the rear of the trigger just behind the blade, if that screw loosen it effects the function. The screw in question is a sensor for the computer in the gun. I could be wrong but That’s what happened to my gun

I wonder what air guns will be like in 5 years when my Daystate warranties expire.

Will there even be any purely mechanical air guns even available by then? Will they even be using air any more, and not some electromagnetic 'pellet pushing', like being installed on the current production U.S. aircraft carriers for launching their planes?

In the meanwhile, I will be very happy with my electronic Daystates, thank you.

You may be referrring to the screw which actually contacts the microswitch, I have seen one of the levers on the microswitch break, not really a lot you can do to prevent a faulty microswitch to be fair.
