I had purchased a Diana 45 about 12 years ago from a pawnshop because there were some birds possibly magpies or ravens messing with my roof shingles. I don't remember every shooting at the birds but had fun doing a little plinking with the gun which brought back memories of my first major purchase of similar Beeman 30 years previous to that.
The gun has sat in storage for all that time. I want to start using it again and also bring it back to its full potential. The gun is in near mint condition and was seldom used before I owned it and I probably put a few hundred pellets through it. The details are on the top of the Gun "Diana Mod 45", "MADE IN WEST GERMANY" serial # 692976, .177 cal.
The breach seal looks very good, but the assumption the piston seal is going to be very dry, especially because I live in a dry climate. Should I pour some oil into the piston area? I do not have any specialized oils other than gun oil, 3 in 1 and other household oils, nothing air gun specific. All other info and suggestions appreciated.
