Tuning Reg creep?

New poster, old lurker. Very new to pcp and I bought a prophet .25. It's usually shoots with a standard deviation under 5 in a 10 shot string. The first shot I fired is always 15 to 20 fps slower than the rest of the shots in the string if I let it sit for a while. I only have 104 shots through this rifle. Is that to be expected? Should I put a better regulator on it? Thanks in advance for any advice given.

If it is a new rifle I would suggest to let the regulator settle after a few hundred shots. If it is an older rifle and the first shot is low and the rest are normal then don't sweat it no big deal.

Now, if your reg is set to a particular number and it moves +/- after sitting for awhile then you have regulator creep. Even so with only the first shot low I wouldn't worry about it. What you can do since you know that information is to burn a shot beforehand and your golden!

Yep, I dry fire 2 or 3 times, do a scope check with 3 to 5 shots on paper @ 50 yds and then I feel confident for the day.

Get yourself a Benjamin Maximus or Hatsan Flash or Vectis rifle no regulators so their first shots always dead on no need to waste blank fire shots and ammo always being paranoid having to sight in on paper targets all the time after being stored. OR! just store regulated guns right at the regulator set point so no air to creep just fill right before you go shooting.
